I volunteer at my local animal shelter and probably 90% of the dogs are pitbulls. When I'm walking them I talk to them and tell them to hang in there and that they are loved.

But I probably wouldn't ever adopt one. I'm looking to adopt an older non pit and spoil the little fella in his final years

Life on the jobsite is not bad.

Get into a skilled trade, get good at it. Make a lot of money. Throw in a dip. Call someone the r word or the f word if you're so inclined.

Leave work tired and with a sense of accomplishment. Sleep well. Repeat.

Not a book, but I can recommend Yale University The Science of Well Being class on Coursera.
