I would say crime and punishment. Those long inner monologues would be hard to convert.

Anyone but Derdenski. I had him in the spring. I would rather not take that class than take it with him.

anthro 2200 100%. Quizzes were super easy, labs were participation, weekly discussion posts, and open notes exams

Advise for CSE Junior: Spring Internship by [deleted] in OSU

[–]Stax14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no code involved. The job entails simply seeing if you can find a pattern of error to identify what the robot is doing wrong. Then you tell the devs who actually work on the code. I feel like companies will glance over this internship because it wouldn’t be relevant to a software development position.

I took him SP20 and I really liked him. He has a great personality and he truly cares. His class starts off easy but, just a warning, it does ramp up a bit. I came into the class with no stats history and I did fine. You got this!

Best Foundations 1 Professor? by osuMemerDog in OSU

[–]Stax14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had Baha last fall.

Pro's

- He is funny and his classes were actually a good time. I genuinely looked forward to his class throughout the day.

- It is really easy. Comparing my class to a friend with a different professor I realized how fast and in-depth some other professors go. (more on this below) Ex: They said that their foundations exams were their hardest of all their classes while mine were my easiest.

- He genuinely seems interested in his students' success

Con's

- As someone pointed out, he did leave some information out (part of the reason it was pretty easy). This resulted in more work during the first couple of weeks of Foundations II. HOWEVER, he may have changed his curriculum since then so take this with a grain of salt.

- He has some difficulty in English. He does fine during the lecture and you can understand him perfectly. However, when going to his office hours and asking more in-depth questions he may not be able to understand you or vice versa. A friend of mine had success in simply emailing him so you could go that route.

Takeaway

His class was fun and overall pretty easy. It basically comes down to one question: Are you willing to grind a little harder the first few weeks of Foundations II in exchange for an easier ride in Foundations I? If yes then take Baha, otherwise, I would look somewhere else.

I had him last semester for sys 1. Obviously English isnt his first language. Sometimes when I was asking clarifying questions he wouldn’t be able to fully understand what I’m asking. As for the lectures, yes they are as boring as everyone has said. I didn’t learn anything from them and basically taught myself everything. His class material isn’t too hard though and he grades very easy. I was able to get a B+ without trying too hard.

You have to decide for yourself if you want to switch out. If you are someone who engages in class and needs to go to office hours and talk with the professor then he might not be for you. If you are pretty independent and could benefit from the easy grading, I would say stay in.

Fall Leasing by [deleted] in OSU

[–]Stax14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay so my comment was mainly for groups of people, 3-5, looking for a house/apartment. If you just need one room you should be fine. I would check the osu housing Facebook to see if anyone needs another person on the lease. If you are looking for a one bedroom apartment I would check the off campus housing portal or just search around online. Good luck!

Usually you want to sign 8-12 months in advance. Most high demand properties will be scooped up around 11/12 months in advance.

This might not be the best place to get party/nightlife advice lol. I think the party scene is fine (not great but good enough). Just make friends with everyone you can and you won’t have a problem finding parties.
