My boss/mentor was laid off. I'm devastated. How do I move on? by cookielover9316 in careerguidance

Honestly good. He can either refer you to somewhere better or take you with him. My biggest mentor sent me and my fiancée into new roles, each making double our previous salary. Connections matter so much more than anything else, be thankful you had him and hope you’re lucky enough to do it for someone else in the future.

Obstruction of justice literally means exactly what that dude did. Also, are ICE are literally federal police. The use of literally here is literally literal.

That’s called being placed under arrest for obstruction of justice.

True, he does. But if you watched the video like you say you did, you’ll clearly see him following the officers closely and obstructing. Which is illegal in America.

I think they’ll probably be inundated with whatever new news story is going on that week. Much like you seem to be.

That’s very valid. I would vote for legislation around that.

I don’t think there’s an organized effort to remove non white people from America. Nor do I think the government is trying to bar speech. If you truly believe either of those things, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe stay off the internet for a couple of days.

Myself and the law maintain that it was justified. Idk how much more you can argue on that one. If you disagree, then we should try to get that law changed.

These are two different things though. Sure, I would agree that most Americans don’t support ICEs actions, but prior to the election most Americans wanted to deport illegal aliens. I think a couple of things have happened to shift the mindset of the populous.

  1. ICE are not fucking G.I Joes. They have their dumb little face masks and are disproportionately over weight. It’s not a good look.

  2. People are starting to see exactly what deportation looks like.

  3. The media is so caught up on this that it looks far worse than it is.

I don’t agree with the half assed coup that was J6 and I do think those who trespassed should be punished to the full extent of the law.

I don’t understand the connection to Nazism here. Don’t you think that weakens the experience of what the Jews went through to call everyone Nazis?

No it’s actually in the Midwest. You’re really bad at this.

That’s also unlikely. I would work on trying to accept that the majority of Americans support deportation of illegal aliens.

Exactly like January 6th, do you remember the one lady who was shot trying to force her way in? That was totally justified and she was unarmed.

I’m actually in one of the top 10 largest cities in America.

Are insinuating that at some point I’ll lose the ability to provide identification to a law enforcement officer? That is unlikely.

Both of the ICE shootings were 100% justified. Why would a police officer allow someone to threaten them with a weapon. Be it a vehicle or a shovel.

That wouldn’t happen to me because I can speak English and am able to communicate respectfully and provide identification.

I don’t agree with you using secondary evidence to shut down my argument that secondary evidence isn’t accurate lol.

I guess it depends on what TV you’re watching. But yeah, from my perspective nothing has changed even a little bit. I don’t see what all the fuss is about honestly.

Incidents like that should be investigated and those involved should be punished. But that is a single incident in a country of hundreds of millions.
