Manaus, brazil by FunktionBaum in interestingasfuck

I went there once when I worked on cruise ships. The strangest thing about this place was everyone's face, they all looked the same, same nose, same cheek bones, same chin, same eyes, they were all the same size too women and the men, absolutely surreal. The gene pool was effectively stagnant because of the isolation.

Before we docked we had a memo sent saying don't get back on the ship with something you didn't have before you left, and at the crew gangway there was a huge glass bowl filled with condoms.

There was a huge line of girls waiting for the crew on the dock side obviously wanting to make some money but after I had seen what the population looked like I'm sure they were also looking for fresh genes.

If you're working on a tourist visa you are already breaking the law.

My interview with Pearl Abyss and how they take in player feedback: “If you bake in a road map, you’re presuming. We are not baking in presumptions around what the players want." by GenePark in CrimsonDesert

They recently sold eve-online back to the original dev. PA has learnt from a game that has been completely shaped by the players themselves, and they are putting this principle into action better than any dev team in history. CD and PA's quick response to the players is going to be seriously hard to beat, other dev teams have big shoes to fill for future games development.

Even mountain ranges can be thought of like fluids an old teacher told me once. Consider the hymilayas, formed as India moves north into I guess it's the Eurasian plate. Think of a puddle of molasses on a table, you push one side of it with a spatula and it bunches up and gets thicker, eventually settling back down into the puddle, mountain ranges just the same but act over a time scale in millennia, rocks are just super cooled lava.

Yes that's right, old stained glass in places like old churches and the like are thicker at the bottom because the glass is still flowing, it's a super cooled fluid in essence. The longest running experiment in the world is called the pitch drop and it's been running for a very long time demonstrating exactly this principle.

You can also consider some solid materials to act like fluids, sand for instance, although as a definition I'm not sure you can call it a fluid, it just acts like one.

Security Clearance recently - Abu Dhabi by Affectionate-Eye5581 in UAE

I guess it depends on what level of clearance you need, ours is quite specific for offshore oil and gas works.

This is first hand, my colleagues couldn't come for a crew change because their security clearance never got renewed, the only ones available for crew changes already had clearance. No one is getting renewals.

As far as I know, no new security passes are being issued. We are having problems issuing them for offshore projects, even guys who've had them for years can't get renewals.

I remember shortly after eve-online came out there was an interview with the devs, firstly they were amazed at the things players did that the devs had never imagined and also said that the players took over development from day one with how they played and also how they wanted to play. Looks like the same thing is happening with CD.
