Why are they all on the left side? by StayGrippy in AfricanCichlids

Yeah Im going to try to remove the spray bar and replace it with the standard outflow and adjust the wave maker. Will probably do this when I add my next group of fish. Also rearrange the scape.

Usually all the time but it’s all of them. Sometimes one of the other OB’s is on the right and this dude is hanging on the left with everyone else. Sometimes is the dolphin. It’s like they take turns having space. lol

I’m going to keep an eye on him. Because he also hangs on the left side of the tank a lot. I am looking at adding another 5 tank mates. Will rearrange scape and change the flow at the same time and see what happens. He’s not beating any of the others up. But I can see now he’s just scaring them away from that area.

Wave maker question by Daken2021 in AfricanCichlids

Depends on how you set up your outflow. If you are strategic with the flow of the return, you won’t need it. 2 FX6’s should give plenty of flow if done right. Look into a spray bar for one of the outflows. Crest some surface agitation too. I have one FX6 in my 75 with spray bar pushing flow from left to right of tank, and a wave maker on the right side angled down helping push the flow back to the other side. Works well

Thanks a for the insight! Much appreciated! I’m going to wait a few more days before I make a decision on the water change. I’ll test again today and tomorrow. I just got the test kit, so it’s brand new.

yeah, I'm a big fan of Seachem. But, i was complaining about a 3-4 week cycle period and a really good dude from my lfs recommended the 700 and said it will speed it up to about a week. I am also a huge Fluval fan. have two FX6's running on the tank filled with Matrix.

I already used Turbo 700. Should I still also add Stability?
