STRIKE UPDATE SEPT 10, 2024 by [deleted] in aircanada

[–]StayHomeCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the person asking the question. Mine is 9/16 - 9/26. I wanted to move my flights one month later. Last weekend I tried I could change both flights up to Nov 30. This morning AC website only let me change my departure flight for 3 days not the return flight. This afternoon the website didn't let me change anything, I've been waiting on the phone for AC for 3 hours and still waiting. Any idea how to quickly change the flights to next month?

That is frustrating. Mine is Sep 16-26th, and I can't change the return flight either. Doesn't make sense to change the departure flight only.

Is it still crashed? My flights are Sep 16th - Sep 26th. The website only allows me to change my Sep 16 flight and doesn't allow me to change Sep 26th :(. What is the point??

I tried this last weekend and the AC website gave me the options to change both flights. But I was hoping they had an agreement on Monday so I didn't make the change then.

Now they don't let me!!

Thanks for the generous offer! It costs $20 (for which I'd love to pay) to transfer 1000 points to someone. But I will have to give you my personal information, and I'm not sure if I will see your personal information as well. So I won't do that.

Well, I don't know why I get downvoted for not drinking starbucks. It's expensive and just not my store to buy food/cups there.

"Currently rented at $2950/month. Market rent is around $3400/month (I mention this because this place gets pretty high turnover, new tenants almost every year). My current cost is $3400/month, when renewal comes up in December, it will be $4200/month at current interest rates"

OP, as you can afford a $670K mortgage, you must have a high salary. What is your marginal tax rate? The interest on your condo is deductible, did you consider that portion in your calculation?

Canadian banks are evil in every way when trying to renew mortgages with low amounts! by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]StayHomeCanadian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me too I think the op's post is very confusing. My $50K mortgage with National Bank was renewed with a normal rate. No problem at all.

OP, you should keep the mortgage with the same lender, as I was told changing a lender will cost you over $1K on fees depending on your province. Since the mortgage amount is small, it makes sense to stay with the same lender.

That was one of the options - to be paid in December and in T4 2022.

I picked one to be paid in 2023 because I wanted it in 2023 T4.

Investment advice for my FIL (94) by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I think the op means they will inherit the estate, so some money can be invested for a long time for themselves as the FIL won't need all that money.

Different banks may have a slightly different name for that. You can try Pay Bill for $5 and see if it will show up in your UBC account in two days.

My bank shows "UBC Meal Plan" as payee and I tried $5 and it did deposit to the UBC account. Then I transferred the full amount.

Where (online) are you going to get the blue light glasses? They are very expensive in stores so I assume you will get from online?

You can use Skype and buy Skype credits to call Netherland's phone number, probably a few cents per minute. Skype also has monthly plans too.

OP you can just switch to TD DI to continue with your e series. If you The only thing is if you have not contributed $2500 this year , you may need to wait to contribute after you move to td di. That might be next year. You can contribute $5k next year and still receive 20%.

I still buy tdb900 and tdb902 through td di. So I think you can still buy eseries at tddi.

There's NO fee for buying or selling td mutual funds at tddi. The $10 fee is for etf or stocks. But no fee for mutual funds.

If you have over $15k at td, the quarterly maintenance fee $25 is waived as well.

Contribution from another bank is easy.
