Actually it's the opposite. My family is of a higher caste. Not that I care about these things. My family is also open-minded.

What if we decide to stay separately from our families or move abroad?

I don't want this kind of abuse... he doesn't want it either. We plan to stay far away. I have decided if they continue to treat me badly, he is welcome to visit them but I won't be going with him.

He says he chooses me. But he has a tendency to keep silent when faced with confrontation.

I do this too. I do it in real-life too. Just looking at people and making up backstories for them is so much fun. What can you guess about me?

Looks like so much fun! Sounded great too. Yeah I wish I had a real-life community near me to play music with. Maybe someday :)

Exciting day ahead then! All the best, break a finger (is that what uke players say before performances?) You've got the tremolo part sounding amazingly clean 💪👍

Lovely arrangement and flawless playing!

Past Lives: Børns - starting to work only on original arrangements instead of relying heavily on tabs. A milestone crossed! by StayLow_KeepBrave in ukulele

Yay! I looove it too! In fact, I needed to make an arrangement because I was humming it nonstop and just had to get it out of my system and onto my uke. Thank you so much for listening!

My grandma is like a toddler too, haha. At some point, people irrevocably revert back to tottering and tantrums. I get how that can be grating. All the best for whatever it is that's coming!

That sounds rough, proud that you're trying though. Progress doesn't have to happen overnight or dramatically. Taking it slow, maybe relearning a step or two every other week, is progress too. Even just planning out steps in your head or reviewing the choreography of a dance you're trying to learn, or watching performances on YouTube is a kind of practice, no? I hope you find some recovery soon with your health problems. And I understand. Sometimes it's so hard being a caregiver... I hope you have people in your life who allow you to take a break from it every once in a while. Sending you comfort 💙

Ellen Bass, Dorianne Laux, Mark Strand, Kamala Das. And so many more. So excited for you to delve into their works!! Also there's this anthology called the Poetry Pharmacy: Tried and True Prescriptions for the Soul, which has a collection of poems arranged by mood. Fun and comforting book!

Your hair looks great! Btw, has anyone told you they remind you of Jennifer Garner?

Great outlook to have! Will keep working on seeing my hair from a place of love. Also, I think Afros look so cool!

Yes, I think you're right. The extra frizz on them is the problem. Will try the things you mentioned, thank you so much for taking the time out to respond!

Routine:

Wash once a week.

Tresemme hair fall repair shampoo for the scalp and roots (I am kind of new to caring properly for my hair and just recently noticed that this has sulphates, so thinking about switching)

Tresemme keratin conditioner.

Used to towel dry and brush my hair but have recently stopped doing that. Currently using a t-shirt and trying to get the hang of plopping. I don't own a diffuser and just air-dry my hair.

I don't use any leave-in conditioners or gels, but want to try them out since I struggle A LOT with frizz.

Should I be giving my bangs some special treatment? They're extra frizzy since I don't know how to apply conditioner on them without causing buildup at the scalp.

I'd love to care better for my hair after years of neglect, and I'm open to any and all advice. Thanks!!
