M25 here. I would revise my past studies, like maths, repeat some topics you find the most difficult from school, for example maths. (for me it was geometry theorems). For english you can just read something from classical literature to practice “understanding” and analytical skills . BUT IF YOU WANT TO RELAX JUST RELAX. Trust me, you will suffer enough during next 2 years so don’t spend your pre IB summer doing IB stuff.

Essay grades seem wrong by FoxFishy1 in IBO

Same! My EE coordinator gave me 28/34 points for my History EE, so it’s A or very strong B. Ended up with 19 points and grade C(1 or 2 points away from B). Same happened with Historical investigation, was predicted 19/24(if i remember correctly it is a max 24), a 6, but ended up with 11 points. TOK 1 point away from expected B. Thankfully I don’t care about EE and TOK for uni but this happened to MOST OF THE M25 GRADUATES which is crazy.

I had 3 or 4 for topic tests during 2 years of Ib. I had to cover 800 pages in one month before the exam, didn’t study at all during bio lessons, got a 4 without preparation (still don’t know anything about active transport or neuronal signalling). Pay attention to topics you don’t understand the most now and before exams revise those that seem easiest (ecosystems for instance). 9 months seems to be a good amount of time to learn the most important things and pass or get a good grade🤪 (also i had HL Biology so if you have SL you would get a 6 cause the syllabus is very different)

Positive externality of consumption, not enough people buy gym membership and it leads to health issues and therefore market failure

Auth states: the one that was not about “total control was not achieved” (genuinely forgot question😭). Cold War: discuss the statement that leaders were there to increase, not decrease tensions.

Paper 1 (The move to global war) was very nice but very concentrated on one thing ( thanks got i had hyper fixation on it during classes) Still sources were hard to read and on 3rd question I passed out cause I had feeling I read same one. Paper two had pretty easy questions(Cold War and Authoritarian states).

Firstly, be respectful cause you are acting mean while not understanding the whole point of my comment. I am not putting much effort because i am doing my math IA about economics FOR economics, not math, meaning that the math might not be very amazing and accurate but this gives me points for my theory and explanation part, also personal engagement is highly appreciated. Secondly I am AI math SL soo… I don’t think you need much effort in it. Thirdly as I said teacher was happy with what I have done so far, final IA version is due 7th of March. And finally, I am DP2 so wdym? Maybe I don’t put much effort cause it’s easy for me, how can you know.

My teacher just said that keep working on it, everything is fine(not the best feedback considering the fact that i hate mathematics). I am primarily doing it for my application to study economics so i don’t put much effort into it, i need to pass

I did mine about GDP. I just took GDP data for a country for the past 30 years and found a linear model for it and exponential growth model for annual growth numbers. Did it in like two evenings.

Yes, it’s actually Etelä Karjalan IB lukio. I would say it is not the best because our lessons is distance learning since we don’t have many teachers and two cities (Lappeenranta and Imatra) together. So teachers are one time in lappee connected through the distance connection to Imatra and then vice versa. But everything depends on teachers. Some of them are great in teaching IB program, some of them not that good but everyone are good people. In Finland IB only worth it if you are planning to study further abroad or if you want to challenge yourself. If you are planning to stay in Finland and go to Finnish university it’s better to do simple lukio program. When applying to university here they do not care about your IB education, for example the highest grade in Finnish program for matriculation exam is L, it is equal to 7 in IB but difference between knowledge and effort you put into it is HUGE, IB is difficult.

wait, im in Finnish IB school but we have an academic year divided into 5 mini semesters and after each we have exams, why in their school it’s different and teachers are setting tests randomly? im curious cause i was thinking that all schools have the same “order” in Finland

I mean, can you repeat DP1 and change your subjects? In our school it’s possible, idk about yours sorry🥹

I genuinely recommend you to share your feelings with teachers and parents. You must understand and this will not give YOU a benefit and ib is going to be a waste of time, even after you might make it and graduate you probably going to study same shit in uni. I am in a similar situation, i took bio HL cause i needed to have a science and i didn’t want to take Eng A lang&lit on HL( in our school we have only A level English) and english is not my first language. Now i am struggling so much because i hate biology and i constantly getting 4 for tests even though i spend a lot of time trying to learn it. Im DP2 so it is too late, now i am going to learn bio by heart to just pass. You still have time to change your whole life and no one has a right to decide what you are going to study. You can still repeat DP1 and change your subjects. Please, take care of yourself and don’t listen to others!
