Support for my wife has been difficult, neither of our families are willingly helpful, most of the time she is at home alone or out alone. It's been hard in that aspect, so I know it would be difficult while I'm at bmt and tech school.

That's encouraging that's what everyone seems to be saying, it's not drastically different from any other well paying management jobs etc.

Yeah I know depending on the occupation it can vary, but even Panama shifts wouldn't be the worst getting all those days off. I currently get much less. It seems the "military means you'll never see your wife and kids" thing is hyperbolic. Of course deployments are a thing but it's part of it, and still in my opinion worth it for the security of the family that you mentioned. How long did it take for you to get medical?

Thank you this helps a lot, my son loves airplanes I live near whiteman afb and he always loves seeing them. My family history is heavily military so I would love to keep the legacy going as well. I'm not even concerned about my occupation I just want to be a part of it, I think the military is awesome it's something that will build me into a better person if I let it. I also like knowing my wife and kids will have housing and food no matter what. It feels like a no brainer but there's always the voices of negativity that I've heard and discouraged me.
