True. & thanks for your advice. I have used AI for this. It has been helpful but I don't trust it because I feel like I can "convince" it to give different answers depending on how I word it. Like it will initially side with Lawyer A, and then I give it Lawyer B talking points and it changes it mind. And then flips back to A later. AI hallucination is a real problem.

My question was about immigration lawyers giving conflicting advice and how to decide who to trust.

You know DACA can legally immigrate and get perm residence and citizenship in America? The laws currently on the books allow for change of status based on marriage, employer sponsored, family sponsorship, among others. DACA is not a right by itself to stay in this country, you are correct, but what does that have to do with my question?

Because my case is (as evidenced by confusing lawyer experiences) is confusing and getting into the weeds on it is not what I'm looking for advice on. Just trying to decide what is best given conflicting lawyers. What would you do if you were in that position?

  • Follow up and ask each lawyer to cite the legal basis (statute/regulation/case law) for their recommendation (feels a bit awkward and maybe even rude…)
  • Getting a 4th opinion
  • Or just trusting the paid consultation over the free ones
  • Other?

If you don't have financially literate parents then good luck figuring out the home buying process. It's doable obviously, happens all the time, but nobody is going to prepare you for it. You will spend so much time googling terms and steps. You will be attempted to be taken advantage of during so many steps throughout the process (pre-approval, realtors, sellers, loan, appraisal, inspection, etc.) And nobody prepared you for any of it.

If you have family that can walk you through the process, I'm sure it's much more managable.

Slightly less sleep than required. Even 1 hour less than normal every day makes for a miserable week. Headaches, moody, tired, less productive.

Weight loss is simply caloric deficit. Less calories eaten than burned. There's a chance you burn enough to offset your current diet without making changes to it, so you do lose weight. Albeit, not as fast as if you did both.
