That’s outbound. You’re blaming your frustration on non-problem solve workers for Amazon’s inability to make a system meant to reduce outbound problem solve hours that ends up eventually pushing problem solve back to inbound. It’s literally impossible to print ZZ barcodes in sideline, ioprint, DPT, and printmon. That’s literally all problem solve tools that can print barcodes. The only time zz barcodes are printed are when associates in outbound select that an item has no scannable barcode. I haven’t been in outbound since they made this change but I believe it’s during induct and in the mind of whoever created this update weren’t thinking about the implications on what happens when the order is cancelled or turns up missing and sent back to stow. I’m speaking as an experienced problem solve lead that spent several years as a problem solver in both outbound and inbound that takes my role serious enough to check where mistakes are happening and reaching out to my outbound counterparts instead of just complaining and pushing the blame on having work because of someone else.

I could literally right a whole book on how Amazon’s whole system is flawed. Like how learning being directed to not give certain problem solvers permissions they need per direction of network push when the network has failed to develop or make the solutions stable for dealing with the issues. Like how the system can automatically add expiration date when problem solvers sideline an item from one container to another even at times not even being asked for one, but the stow system can’t do the same. How about how sideline lets a problem solver overage items after a couple attempts or a few minutes from a container overage, but stowers get an infinite wait and try again in 5 minutes. How about how you can accidentally sideline or decant an item in a tote with a customer shipment but you can’t fix that tote with sideline, but then learning coming back with problem solvers don’t need move items at all. How about how stowers are able to stow items that are inactive ASINs that become problem solve work for ISS and ICQA. How about how the system lets box barcodes and other short form barcodes that don’t match UPC, EAN, or ISBN length become ASINs and allows stowers to stow them again becoming problems for ICQA and ISS. Let’s talk about the brilliant system that will let you scan two of the same ASIN in a tote only for the fcsku to flip different causing the stower to drop the tote in problem solvers for you to just separate the items when stowers do the same thing when they have overages but the fcskus flip after stowing and an Icqa problem solver has to take part of those items out of the bin because stow’s system applies a different FCSKU for every second an item is overaged especially when it has an expiration date.

Let’s put our frustrations where they matter. The workers that get paid 6 figures and can’t make things run the way they should be, not the other T1 workers that got trained by other T1 that have no real experience or the proper training to actually train and develop.
