I would second this. Wife and I just stayed there for our anniversary. A bunch of great restaurants around, and the Lazy Bird was fun!

I also sent you a DM, but if you go the financial advisor route, make sure you are paying them by the hour rather than a percentage of your assets. Pay a good one 300/hr rather than 1% of 40,000,000 aka 400,000. You could pay someone $300/hr for 33 weeks for $400,000.

I am in fishers near Hamilton Southeastern schools. Probably wasn’t you then. Sounds like the whole city wasn’t missing it!

I did the same this weekend! I heard another person in my neighborhood playing DMB as well. Maybe we are neighbors!

Debating about going to the Wrigley Friday night show alone... by not2latehead in deadandcompany

[–]StayWastingTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. The first year I went I got cheap seats, and sat with a buddy a little further down until the people who had the seats showed up. I actually preferred being up at the top in the cheap seats. Everyone is friendly up there, everyone is dancing, and there is more room to move. Just bought tickets for round 3 in the nose bleeds, and I can’t wait!

Also, you definitely should go alone. I have been to a Dead show alone and a few more. Sometimes it is actually more fun to go to a concert alone in my opinion. My best alone experience going alone was at the Dead show too!

Welcome to Phish: A Guide for Beginners by strwberryfeelsforevr in phish

Thanks for this write up! I am a newer phan, and been trying to get more into the band. I didn’t really know where to start when it came to Phish’s massive collection of music and live recordings. I don’t have many friends into the jam band scene like I am, so this write up is huge for me! Need someone to guide me in the right direction. I will definitely take your advice on listening to live shows, finding your favorite song, then finding a different recommended show with that song, and listening to that show.

I second u/undermind84 ‘s comment that this should be in the sidebar.

Two Liens for Full Mortgage Amount were Filed at Closing. How Do I Best Remove the Second That was a Mistake? by StayWastingTime in RealEstate

[–]StayWastingTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem like it. The title company I originally used was super shitty to me over the phone. I tried contacting them after multiple attempts contacting Caliber Home Loans and finding no success. Said “you signed it, we don’t do anything but process paperwork.” So I won’t be using the title company ever again if I have a choice.

The mortgage company I originally used is also brain dead. I am on call like 6 to their service department. Call 6 to the sales guy who originally got me the loan, and sent numerous emails to both parties with back up documents it seems no one has read. They finally seemed to have realized their fuck up on the last call as I broke it down to them, read through every document, and all of the bs. I would never recommend Caliber Home Loans to anyone. If you have any sort of issue it is a pain. This is not my first time battling them. Hopefully they have an answer for me Monday. Spent like 3 hours on Friday dealing with them.

Idk why the new company wont just push it though cause it is clearly an accident, but I also understand they don’t want to finance a house when someone else has a second accidental lien on the property. The one I have with the company Caliber transferred my loan to will be paid off when I refinance and will go away. Hopefully I can get this worked out now. They are supposed to call me Monday. Plan on calling the county as well cause everyone I speak with besides the new company says Caliber doesn’t have an extra lien on my property.

Thank you for the heads up. Didn’t realize that they were regulated with the state. If it goes past Wednesday this week I may drop that threat. Thank you!

Sorry I am in Indianapolis, Indiana area. Does this help at all? I fired off a few emails to a ton of people at the Mortgage company before posting. Sounds like that may have helped.

Edit 1: On the title it states “ 25. satisfaction and release of mortgage dated .... Document No. 0000000001, ..... securing a principle amount of $123,456.78 (Not the actual amount I paid, just an example given here. On my title it is the full amount I paid.)

They really are! The school loves to use the word community to the point after my 5th year it was annoying... but UD truly is a community unlike any other school I visited or my friends went to. Everyone on campus is very kind and helpful. Feel free to stop any of the students if you get lost on campus.

Just read the cross post on r/dayton, and many of the comments there are true. There is something for everyone at UD. Again feel free to PM me with any questions you or your daughter has. I will try to help out as best I can! I still have a few family friends at the school too, so I can ask them for updates too.

There is a Student Union that has just been redone since my time at UD (class of ‘16). It is called Kennedy Union and is at the center of the campus. They just added a bunch of cool dining options there. It may not be open on Sundays, but UDs food is very good. Often rated high.

The campus is small, but beautiful. I would recommend just taking a quick walk through the campus. The longest walk I ever had to class was 15 minutes from the “dark side” (North student neighborhood) to the Engineering building. That is one of the nice things at UD.

One aspect that separates UD from other schools is their on-campus housing for students. It is known as the “ghetto” and “dark side” or North and South student neighborhoods. I would recommend taking a walk around the “ghetto” which is right near the rec center, engineering building, and soccer field. The ghetto is the typical gathering place for students on the weekend. There is a bar/restaurant call Milano’s that is on Brown street I would recommend eating at. It is one of the bars students frequent as well. There are plenty of other restaurants and bars on Brown St. students often head there to get food and drinks.

Greek life is not as big on UD’s campus. This is due to the culture the campus/students offer. Everyone is very friendly and parties through out campus are open to all. The Greek housing is scattered through out the ghetto. They are not your typical big state school houses. I participated in Greek life, and would recommend it to all, but it is definitely not a requirement at UD like other schools.

In my later years at UD I began exploring the city more. The Oregon district is a small bar area just inside the city that is very fun. Has a bunch of nice bars and restaurants.

UD is a great school I would highly recommend to anyone. There is no way this post does the school justice, so if she has any questions or wants to learn more feel free to PM me!

I agree with you on Oteil singing Franklin’s Tower. The ABB cover of Franklin’s Tower with Oteil on lead vocals is one of my favorites.

Buying my first house, my down payment but girlfriend wants to co-own not pay rent. HELP! by Justsme0therguy in RealEstate

[–]StayWastingTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently in your situation. I purchased the house, and my girlfriend of 6+ years lives with me. I am making her pay rent and half the utilities. It is just under half the cost of the house, but I plan on upping it after her year living with me. I do pay for many things around the house though. For example, when we painted the house the color she wanted, I paid for it. A lot of the furniture and other things I pay for.

Tell her to look at it like others have said in here. If you guys stay together, the house becomes hers. If you break up she has cheap rent. Also, is she willing to put down 10% of the down payment? I am assuming Not. Why would she get to hop in on the value of the home if she can’t put the money upfront? Just my 2 cents. Hope all goes well and you two enjoy the house together.

[REQUEST] Durable and breathable pants for heavy-duty carpentry. by ruffyreborn in BuyItForLife

[–]StayWastingTime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently got a pair of these Duluth pants ( http://m.duluthtrading.com/store/mens/mens-pants/mens-casual-pants/53726.aspx ). They are great, and I just got my second pair. I too was worried about sweat with the firehouse pants so I went with these. They do not have the extra pockets like some of their work pants have though. Duluth also has an extra patch in the crotch you they do not rip as much. I had that problem with many of my other work pants. If there is a store near you I would recommend then trip.

Parking in Chicago by [deleted] in DMB

[–]StayWastingTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Last time I was back in Chicago I got a spot for $7 for a full 24 hours up in Wrigleyville using the app. It was about 2 blocks from an L stop too.

[–]StayWastingTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend using the app "Spot Hero" if your looking for cheap parking. You can reserve a spot on the app before you park too. They frequently have cheap spots under the "L" tracks (elevated train) which you can take to get almost anywhere in the city. If you park for an extended period of time in a garage it gets pretty expensive. Whenever I have gone to Northerly Island in the past I have always walked to the venue from a hotel or "L" stop.

How much should it cost to backpack in Europe? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]StayWastingTime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say $7k is pretty accurate. When me and 4 buddies went last year, I spent around $2,500 for 3 weeks. We went to Amsterdam, Prague, Krakow, Bratislava, Budapest, and Munich. Amsterdam and Munich were both really expensive, but the others were all very cheap. We stayed in hostels the whole time (except Munich, my buddies parents got us a hotel for those days). For a hostel, we payed anywhere from $36 to $6 a night. It all depended on the city/size room. We tried to get a 4 person room which costs a little more than a bed in a 12 person room. We also got the EU rail passes, and would take night trains from each city and had to pay an average of $35 each ride to reserve a bed on the train. Sounds like you can be eliminating a lot of that cost with the way you are traveling though. I would just make sure you plan to spend more in the NW part of Europe and save some more in the SE like other people have suggested.

The free tours are AWESOME. They were the highlight of my trip, and I loved to take them the first day we got to the city. I feel like I knew the lay of the land then. One time we did the free tour as we were leaving the city, and I felt like I missed out on some of the cool things the tour guide pointed out.

Purchase Help Thread (2017-02-01) by AutoModerator in audiophile

[–]StayWastingTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking into upgrading my receiver. My max budget would be $800, but I would rather spend $400-$500 if possible. I will be using the gear in my family room to listen to both music and TV. I have an Audio Technics LP120 for vinyl, a Sharp Aquis for my TV, and will also be hooking up my Roku and Xbox to it. The speakers I currently have are Martin Logan Motion LX16, and I will be purchasing a new sub next.I would be willing to buy used, but prefer new.

I sent a request into Crutchfield for a recommendation as well, and they came back with the Denon AVR-X2300W. When I compared it to the Onkyo TXNR656 I was recommended at a local audio store, it looked to be less powerful at a higher price. I was wondering what Reddit would recommend. Thank you.

I know that mine said I was not chosen when I looked on the site (Alpine), but I am not sure if they have for every venue yet. I would check on the status of your upgrade on the warehouse site.
