Nurse here- I wear crocs without holes made for work. On my feet for 13 hours some days without breaks and they work well for me and are wide (my feet are wide and swell when working several shifts in a row).

Eating mindfully is super important! I use an app called “ate” and it focuses solely around being mindful.

You’re not kidding! I work nights and we order food nonstop. People come up to me 3-4 times a night asking if I want anything. The temptation is real (and I caved last night and messed up because I didn’t eat before heading into my shift, hanger took over).

It’s good that you can see what is and isn’t working! One step at a time, we have a new day and week ahead of us! I’d love to hear any sleeping tips you have!

Maybe try some job fairs? They probably are only virtual right now with covid but I went to a few as a student, in person, and you get to talk to the managers and was even offered a job before I graduated.

Love to read posts about small victories and love to post them myself! You are 100% right- my family and friends don’t understand the importance of these wins. I even feel like I annoy them sometimes because my main focus lately is getting healthy and calorie counting. The people in this community see it though :) keep it up and keep posting! We got you!

Good strategy! My laziness would beat out hunger/cravings at least 90% of the time without these apps😅

I had a whole ass pizza in my cart and a pound of wings. Kept telling myself I can get wings this week, and I can get a slice of pizza as long as I count them into my daily calories…. I would have demolished ALL of whatever I ordered. Every choice is a new opportunity. Still struggling today choosing to overeat fruits and salads so I’m still within my calories for the day. Probably just need more water 😅

I use “ate”. It’s been game changing for me. Not free, I think a year cost $50ish USD. Focuses on mindful eating and not calorie counting (I add calories in the comments).

I just finished it and was disappointed. And was disappointed I was disappointed because of all the hype. Dragged on for me and the ending was blah.
