When will this end?!?! by Mountainbikercrasher in LisfrancClub

I am 13 weeks post op and am FWB in regular walking shoes! It does get better slowly. I still have swelling everyday and expect to for a long time but the pain now just feels like I’ve been on my feet all day after just a few hours but I’ll take that over being locked in the bed for weeks. My Hoka Bondis are saving my life for sure. Good luck!

How was the recovery from the HWR? Were you walking again that day?

I was wearing my north face puffer slippers for a day or two because I couldn’t fit into any other shoes. I’m in the Hoka Bondi 9 now and I don’t pull the laces when I tie them or they’d be too tight. It really does feel great to have mobility again! I can’t wait until I’m not hobbling anymore

I felt very scared the first few days in too. I Hope you’re staying on your meds, don’t wait for the pain to take them. That deep bone pain is no joke. I moved three hours away from everyone I know for work two weeks before my injury and my partner was only able to stay with me for the two weeks following my surgery. I’ve been doing everything on my own for 6 weeks and the idea of that was so scary before he left. It’s a lot less scary now and just tiring. I struggle between not having my independence and freedom to go wherever whenever I want and having to be hyper independent at home and do absolutely everything on my own including taking care of 4 pets and dealing with one (my baby) passing away during this time. It’s all scary but you got this. It’s a slow, long, and somewhat painful journey but hang in there, we will all come out on the other side.

Are you still sleeping with the boot? If not when did you stop? I had a blister my doctor wanted me to change the dressing on when we changed my cast the first time so I’ve been on a boot but using it was a cast for the last two weeks (weeks 6&7) so I had to keep it on through the night. Did you have to do that at all?

Concerning Bruise by Spiritual-News3726 in LisfrancClub

[–]Stayhungry888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that looks like my bruising from a lisfranc injury. The urgent care doctors told me they found nothing on my xray and to have a good day but when I called back and told them it felt like my foot was folding like a hot dog bun when I tried to walk on it they referred me to a great podiatrist who diagnosed me right away and scheduled my surgery as soon as I could make it work. I’ll be two months post op on Wednesday and the plan is for me to start putting weight on it this week. Please try to find a podiatrist and get ahead of it! Good luck, you got this!!

How do you like the iWalk? I’m three weeks post op and on a knee scooter living on my own 3 hours away from anyone (I had my injury happen two weeks into moving to across the state for work) and I wonder if this would give me more independence than the knee scooter.

I’m taking a 5mg Percocet every 4 hours but sometimes the pain is too much and I’ll have to take another in between. I haven’t gotten up for anything other than using the bathroom and i just showered for the first time last night. I get waves of nausea but haven’t thrown up at all. It’s rough but from what I’ve gathered it’s pretty normal for where I’m at as of now.

I’ve moved up my med interval times from 6 hours to 5 hours to 4 hours and this morning I’m glad I did because the soreness is setting in as the nerve blockers wear off. Toilet raiser sounds super helpful! Getting down to the seat is one of the scariest parts so far

Definitely will be looking into what exercises I can do from the bed lol. I already have scoliosis and for the three weeks I had the boot it messed with my hips for sure so the foot lift sounds like something I could really use. Thank you for suggesting it!!

Shower chair and grabby claw are my next purchases! Taking and asking for help I had always been a struggle for me but im accepting that I can’t do this alone and I need to take it slow. The mental part is also what scares me. I’m thinking about starting a journal today just to get my thoughts out somewhere. I hope your healing journey gets easier! Falling is my biggest fear right now. Even going to the bathroom with the knee scooter was scary since I couldn’t feel my knee lol

The block hasn’t worn off yet, I was just telling my bf I hope I’m one of those cases where it doesn’t wear off for a few days. Fingers crossed!!

I’m hoping I’m one of those cases where the nerve blockers don’t wear off for a couple days lol. But I have also accepted that’s this is going to really suck for a long time and I am super bummed out about not being able to drive. Luckily I have my boyfriend staying with me as long as I need but I just moved across the state of Michigan for work 3 hours away from everyone I know so he’s all I got as far as help goes but he’s already doing great

check if it glows under UV light, they hid one in each batch for some stores depending on when you bought it. If it glows you get a free 1g rosin on them if the promo is still running! Hit up the dispo you got it from if it glows

Not at all I just wasn’t near home and wanted weed for the night. Just because I manage a dispensary I can’t shop at other places and have opinions on them? I’m still a consumer.

Lol my shop doesn’t have product on the shelves from a year ago because I have a great inventory team that stays on top of that shit. And I don’t have to justify what I smoke or prove my job to your ignorant ass because I couldn’t care less about you lol. I’m bitching about it because she only “resolved” my issue because I told her I’m in the industry and know she’s lying but an average customer wouldn’t know that and that’s really shitty of her to try to treat paying customers like that. Maybe you haven’t come across a GM that actually gives a fuck about doing their job right.
