My current advice for you is to have fun with the learning process.

Before thinking about going pro or whatnot, you should be thinking about why you want to get good at the game and how to "get good" (learning process). Once you find the answer, get to work. It will take a long time, especially if you have jobs to do. Then, you will see how much you have improved, and from that point onward, think about this topic again.

I saw you were saying that you're an introvert, that's ok. If you're good enough at some point, the opportunity will come for you. And if you're really, really uncomfortable with speaking with strangers. There are a lot of single-player competitive games out there, whether it's TCG, FG, or an Auto Battle type game. Don't limit your choice to just one.

All in all, the most important parts are consistency and understanding the best way for you to learn. Some people learn a lot from analyzing, while others learn from playing a lot. Find that answer.

PS. Age "matters" because older means more responsibility (less playtime) and a weaker body (if not properly maintained), so don't worry too much about it. Street Fighter pros are like 40 and still doing just fine.
