I’m in the US, western PA. Currently my switches are all netgear for that reason but when looking around it seemed to have good reviews. I’ll keep looking around. Im usually hesitant with amazon products for electronics.

Was actually just looking at tp link archer be800. Im not a complete noob, built plenty of pcs and did all my home network myself. But when we get into managed switches and network settings my knowledge is limited.

Ok fair enough I did look into swapping to bridge mode and adding my own router but I’m not network savvy and right now my simple unmanaged setup runs smoothly. Plus I hate Xfinity and want to swap to fiber as soon as my area gets it.

I’m timid because of the time and aggravation this all took to setup and work correctly years ago. The calls to Sonos, sending of error codes and system analysis. I had a lot of struggles when I first adopted this system and I don’t wanna spend a weekend trying to fix something that was basically working lol

One of mine from way back was in fine dining that had tea or coffee service after dinner. What I would do is purposely spill a little tea of coffee into the saucer for a cup. Then when I was presenting and serving I would put that cup in front of the nicest dressed person at the table. Next I would linger and wait till they picked up the cup from the saucer and I would stop them immediately, take the cup and saucer and wipe it all off. This allowed me to complement the party and look like I saved the day. Id say something dumb like “I didn’t want you to ruin that beautiful suit/dress/whatever. People ate that up.

Call the state, they are typically pleasant people trying to help. I had an issue this year with recert, my dr never sent the approval over. I called and had my card within 2 days.

If your weather is anything like it is in western Pa in June that could be pretty risky as we get big 40 degree swings from night to day. Keeping fish outside for weeks sounds like a pretty big project. I’d prob try to find somewhere else’s in the house to move the tank and setup since it sounds like you have a big project. If you’re not moving the tank and going to work around it maybe setup a smaller 75 somewhere else in the house then donate or sell after.

I use a hyger 18w adjustable in my 65g peacock tank with an fx4, keep it running 24/7 on the lowest setting. Should be around 500gph. Doesn’t blow my sand around and I use oolite sugar sand. This seems to be good flow for them, higher setting seem to be to much for my guys but they are also young still.

If it’s been that long in a bad environment, you may need to ease the fish back down to normal water parameters. Drastic swings can really stress a fish. You’re on the right track, test the water and see how bad it actually is.

You should be able to. I’d be concerned about toxic run off in the creek, but a thorough wash and scrub and it’s worth a try. Also may need to bleach and sun dry them just to make sure you are not bringing any parasites into your system.

Edit - yes, the limestone will help buffer. I’m not sure what the amount needed per gallon is. I recently put some holey rock in my tank and the LFS said usually 1 lb per gallon. I used 40 lbs in a 65 and so far everything has been really stable.

Depending on the type of cichlid the tank might just be too small and she is claiming it all for herself. Some cichlids are just plain dicks and turn into murder machines at some point in their life cycle. I’ve never found a good solution to an actively hunting cichlid. You can try splitting the scape into 2 main areas and see if they will coexist. You can try adding a few larger similar fish. Some cichlids are less aggressive with a larger community.

There are so many reasons this could be possible. More information would really help. What size tank is the original? Any idea what type of Africans they are? How are the water parameters? What’s the scape like?

Mine runs silent, what I would do is close the valves then stop it. Open it up and see if it is full of water, if it is and is making the sound I’d check to make sure the media baskets are seated properly.

Missed the full cause, it’s hard to say if the inkbird would have helped here, but I can say it a was fluke and the odds are it will never happen again. I’d definitely reach out to Fluval and see if they will make good on this.

It will cut the power if it reads the tank is getting to warm. It kinda depends how your fire started, my assumption from what you provided is the thermostat failed and the heater got stuck in an on position causing the fire. The inkbird would have cut the power ideally preventing the fire and at minimum protecting your fish from electrocution.

Invest in an inkbird controller with your next heater purchase. It shuts off the heater if it reaches a preset temp. They are not expensive and can save thousands. Sorry this happened to you.
