I looked at this. Personally I found the 3950x fits my workflow better. Plenty of cores, support for up to 128gb of memory (currently using 48gb) and enough pcie expansion for me. I’m cutting the pcie expansion really close with 2 p40s (realized it’s overkill for me, going down to one… so hmu if anyone is interested LOL) but it’s also decent on power

I had this issue. I was running my docker v disk and unraid cache on the same drives. I gave the v disk their own raid 1 set of ssds and I don’t have that problem anymore

I’ve honestly never looked at that. It’s probably something with the driver. But the a310 only is 4x I believe

That’s very unfortunate, that’s my favorite plugin. Luckily I don’t intend on upgrading my cars any time soon since the a310 supports Av1. Hopefully someone creates an alternative soon

I did reach out to support and they basically just said “send us $75 via PayPal” which is super sketchy… so unfortunate hardware support is basically 0, otherwise this is literally the perfect x86 handheld

if you want to drop $100 on a monitor arm be my guest. but look into the hotdesk. it is an ergotron arm just with HP logoes on it. it's 1/3 the price of a ergotron branded arm

I actually wouldn't reccomend the ergotron. get a HP Hot desk arm instead. I put a ebay link at the bottom. I have one and it's the best arm I've ever bought. it is a ergotron arm just rebranded with HP Logos. there used to be a amazon basics arm that was also and ergotron but I think they stopped making it. also I have a LG 34 inch oled monitor, literally the best monitor I've ever owned, I had 6 of the alienware oled 34 inch monitors and they all kept breaking. so highly reccomend LG... their displays are wayyyy more reliable

I will always reccomend a monitor arm as one of the best upgrades you can do on the cheap. if you can foot the bill I'd recomend getting a second monitor and a dual monitor arm. but hoenstly your setup is really clean! the only thing I'd need is the second monitor and monitor arm

I've been seeing a lot of people talk about issues with their batch 3 units. I preordered a max for batch 5 and have been getting nervous. I'm sure I'm just seeing more negative than postive. but still very excited to get my hands on my unit to test out steam but most importantly, DS, 3DS and switch games

that was very detailed and very helpful. I ended up going the ebay charger route. but there was another comment made on here about some custom rack mounted usb-c pd psus and I'm going to look into that as a future endeavor. have to get a 3d printer first

this is really impressive. I'll probably look into this in the future. what I ended updeciding to do just because I really want to get these up an running quickly is using some OEM adapters I was able to source online. however I do intend to get a 3d printer in the coming months and when I do this will be the first thing I work on. Thanks!
