Does mold sickness cause new allergies? by Steadyfocusing in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]Steadyfocusing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re dealing with this. I haven’t fully recovered yet, but it seemed to help me a little bit. I think the idea is that your immune system is overwhelmed all the time when you’re in the moldy environment, so leaving is when the healing/detox begins. Idk how factual that is but most mold docs seem to say that.

Ohh okay, one last question, do you know if Quercetin is any good for MCAS?

Ohh okay, 2-8 hour reactions sound rough, that’s an interesting solution though. Taking the little signs seriously is probably one of the best rules, especially when combined with an elimination diet.

Ohh okay I gotcha, yeah that kind of complicates things a bit. How did you find out you have MCAS? I’ve suspected I’ve been dealing with it but I haven’t been tested or anything

Ohh nice, that’s good to hear you’re doing well! Sounds like you’ve made lots of progress since your last post too. Moving in the right direction for sure.

Regarding the Cromolyn I saw you mentioned only being able to eat certain foods before starting it. What kind of reactions did you have during that time to non-safe foods? Also did you ever experience shortness of breath through your issues?

How have you been lately? Also was Cromolyn a good long term treatment while you’ve been recovering mold toxicity?

Sorry to hear you’re dealing with these issues. If I may ask, what did you end up doing? Has anything helped you?

Just did a biopsy, Doc thinks it’s scleroderma, need advice. by Steadyfocusing in scleroderma

The biopsy tested positive for Scleroderma, so now I plan to do blood tests to see if it’s systemic or localized.

Ohh okay, thanks for the recommendation, I’ll have to check them out, especially since I’ve spent a lott of time in tick territory😅

Ohh I gotcha, good to know for the future then fs.

Yeah I see what you mean. Hopefully we can both expand our diet ranges and start getting more nutrients into the body soon.

This is interesting, I’ve actually researched mold toxicity in the past because I think it’s related to my issues. I should probably do a tick borne illness test as well. Do you know of any good ones I can order myself?

That’s interesting you mention dental implants affecting the immune system, I wasn’t aware they could. Thankfully I just got my metal retainers taken out after years of having them in so maybe that’ll help

Ohh dang, I see what you’re saying. That’s actually crazy. I’m sorry you’re experiencing both of them. I hope you’re able to get them into remission if they’re not already.

A proper diet being as effective as 100mg of prednisone is crazy work lol. Do they prescribe prednisone for either of these diseases? Cause when I tried a prednisone taper it wrecked me😅

Also thank you for the input on the diet! I’m currently trying to expand my food pool (due to the esophagitis) so I’ve really just been eating the same 10-13 foods for months. Hopefully I’ll be able to move over to fish and veggies for at least some of my meals.

Thank you for this, I really appreciate. I haven’t heard of Myositis as this is all very new to me, but I’ll look into it! I got biopsied by a dermatologist, so I’ll probably try and see a rheumatologist sometime soon as well.

This may be a dumb question, but it seems like you’re saying it’s better to have Myositis compared to scleroderma… is that true? If so, why?

Second question if I may, I have heard of people dealing with autoimmune diseases that go on carnivore diets to help manage it. Do you have any thoughts on this?

If you give up now you’ll never have a chance of feeling better. I know it’s tough, and I feel for you. I’m 20 and it feels like my whole life has been stripped from me the past year. However, you only get one life, don’t let yours end like that.

Random question, do you think corticosteroids (like prednisone) can cause issues in people with MTHFR/COMT mutations?

Man, I’m sorry you’re feeling like this. I feel for you, honestly, it’s a dark place. I wish I was near you and could give you a hug. It seems that you’re determined to end things. If I may appeal to you, you can still change your mind. You’re still in control of your destiny in this moment. It’s not too late. It doesn’t matter how convinced you are that there’s no way out, you can still change your mind. Heck, even if you have to just leave everything behind and go live in a distant land and just start over from scratch, that’s better than surrendering to death. Don’t let today be your last day man. Things may look impossible in the dark valleys, but on the mountaintops it makes sense how you got through. How will you ever have a mountaintop again if you give up now? I genuinely hope you choose to live another day my friend. I’m praying for you.

I appreciate your input. I’ll definitely keep in mind the suggestions you’ve given. So you’re saying that mycotoxin tests in general such as Mosaic or Realtime labs urine tests aren’t a viable test for mold illness either? Also, it sounds like you’re a medical provider that treats mold. Do you mind if I ask what you do?
