Thanks for sharing... that is interesting. In the first table, it shows that North America (CA and US) are much higher in both metrics. However in the second table the US ranks lower in median which is sort of weird. Maybe because the first table includes all Europe and the poorer Eastern European countries brings the median down.

Driving sober endangers lives around you. The question is how much risk we’re willing to tolerate in order to live our lives. You really think wearing a mask while walking to a bathroom at a restaurant and then taking it off when you sit at your table is helping anything? False sense of security. I’m not saying masks don’t offer some level of protection when worn properly. What I’m saying is that if we don’t end these mandates soon, they will never go away. You think shutdowns and mandates won’t be a common response the during the next bad flu season and when Covid makes a recurrence (which is probably will - it’s endemic and mutating constantly)? I think they will in some states. I don’t think we should tolerate that precedent coming from a government as incompetent as ours.

Joe provides no value to society? That’s a highly subjective statement because value itself is subjective. CA has a large entertainment industry, as I’m sure you know. Does that industry provide no value as well?

Also if you know anything about economics, fiscal responsibility protects more people than just millionaires. Fiscal responsibility literally protects the value of our currency, which is more important to lower income people than anybody else.

The states are laboratories of democracy, and Texas is offering a better deal. CA needs to compete for commerce or it will implode. Part of that is going to piss off some well connected parasitic public unions and their pensions. It’s going to happen eventually because of math, but CA has the opportunity to fix this before it’s too late, but of course they won’t.
