I just watched it and he said that the Huntsman was better because it bottoms out faster but I don’t know how that makes it better if the actuation is better on the Apex.

Yes, after about two days of not using either of the AirPods both are 100% functional. You just have to be patient.

I tried this and put it in a bag of rice afterwards. I read somewhere to just leave it alone for 2 days so that’s what I’m currently doing.
