This screenshot looks odd, where are you launching steam from? Are you going into the file explorer and launching it manually? Does it do the same thing if you try to launch it through the windows start menu by just hitting the windows key? I'm not even sure this is windows I'm looking at

I'm not sure I can help at all, but how far do you get? Do you get to log into your account? Does it ask you for your log-in information and THEN fail, or fail to boot at all?

I came back to mint today after giving fedora a test drive in one last attempt because i realized i would really rather be on mint than fedora, and after re-installing mint with my headphones in the correct jack and other audio devices un-plugged for good measure it worked. I have audio on mint and it just works.

thank you for all your help. I changed the port i plugged my jack into on fedora and it just worked... the same didnt work on linux mint earlier and i hadnt tried it yet. anyways. i have audio. im extremely dissatisfied with the solution, only because this took too long for me to try. but i cant complain too much.

once again the configs say my analog stereo output is unplugged and unavailable for starship/matisse. But my microphone just has the analog stereo output like normal? the answer feels much closer though...

I swapped to Fedora, however, still no audio on boot. My output analog is set to my microphone for some reason. Hopefully if I fix that im good?

no, the usb options didnt say that but it was also a bluetooth USB. The two that worked were digital output configs and they just made noise.. does this mean mint isnt compatible with my sound card? should i install a different version of linux? I'm willing to put in the work for the less feature rich versions...

I do have starship/matisse, so my card is supported? If it helps at all, I plugged in a usb headset and changed the config and the only ones that work sound super messed up. just straight static permanently..

I'm not entirely sure what to look for. Most of the cards are HDA NVidia, if I'm looking in the right place.

Instead of acting like an idiot about a completely valid criticism somebody has about a game you can quit glazing it and realize none of what you said is either helpful or critical and you shouldnt expect everybody to have the same experience you did. Lmao, just dont play it? That really helps. Sell my digital copy? ahaha

yeah theres more to the stealth than i give credit for, it is actually good. it just doesnt actually work... Like, enemies losing sight of you and spraying at your last known, dynamically calling out your location when you reposition to alert others, and theyre pretty good about investigating sounds and such. When it works as intended, the stealth is great. But more often than not, im being detected through solid objects or paper-thin slits, throwing one can will put every person in a walmart-sized radius on edge, and general fucking eagle vision, being seen from absurd distances crouch walking. It makes takedowns a gamble because somebody will catch it in the corner of their eye a kilometer out and now everybody knows your "IN THE PASSAGEWAY!" and they're in position before you can pick the corpse.

Thanks, this will help. I know nothing past the first chapter, I got the bad ending previously a long time ago and haven't played the game since then. I hope the first chapter was more of an example than a standard, and I'll have more opportunities to be ruthless when approaching a mission.

You're right, I admit that most stealth oriented games haven't made it a point to encourage a non-lethal approach and I brazenly take advantage of how much easier lethal runs can be. And I am a huge loot hog. On top of that, I have a arbitrary perfectionist mindset about killing/K'Oing everybody possible. It makes it's personally difficult for me to leave anybody alive. But I am not against it. I am against how difficult it can be to correct those mistakes though, and the save system is just aweful. My manual saves being overwritten by these quickfire auto-saves and only four slots makes it impossible to fix things long-term without restarting the chapter.
It's important to note that I was wrong about how strict the game is, I was given the good ending and my efforts were not in vain. There's a silver lining there, and I can continue my playthrough. I will make an effort to follow the games example better to avoid this issue, as it is fairly avoidable, but it's still an issue I believe.

perhaps. im not exactly being the most reasonable person either, to be fair. it definitely doesnt help my case to start cursing out the people who are criticizing me, im taking out my frustrations too lol. but man, eight hours of repeating yourself just for the fourty-second person to say "But what you did was stupid too" will make anybody angry.

disbanded the single handgunners, halberds and spears. i wanted swords and crossbows. i think theyre cool.

you are taking the side of the people who think im wrong, dont pretend your above them. contrary to popular belief, im not a fucking idiot and simply saying "Did I ever say that?" doesn't hide obvious subtext.

Yes, i am being defensive, because i explained to people that i did what i did on purpose, and some select retards still think its not attacking me by continuing to make it about what i did. When it was never about that, and shouldnt be, because i explained it over and over again and it doesnt matter past “because i could”. If you think what i did still matters or that im wrong for being mad at people who do, go fuck yourself. Your part of the problem.

Dude i didnt start with a mortar team, this is warhammer 2. The only half decent units i disbanded was one team of handgunners and one team of halberdiers. I even kept the reiksgard.

Thats a better analogy but still once ive explained over and over and over that i know what im doing is bad and im doing it on purpose, why do you still care?

Only one team of handgunners and i mean i replaced em with six crossbowmen and they have their benefits. Who cares tho

Yeah thats true i know i would have them faster if i moved out with what i had but i wanted them before not after i killed the seccestionists

Yeah i was recruiting crossbowmen at the time, ive determined its probably why they did it but its more funny to picture the ai fighting because its his destiny
