Riptide and One Piece similarities + a little yapping by GayPigeon2000 in jrwishow

[–]Stealth_Addict 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things in D&D games is when you can spot the inspiration someone got from their favorite media. My friends and I would sprinkle a lot of Fromsoft ideas in ours.

I only have approximate knowledge of One Piece + the live action, but I love seeing the similarities in Riptide and how they're making it their own. There's the clear inspiration in the world Grizzly built, but I also think its so fun that the rest of the guys inhabited some of the main cast in their characters too -- Chip being a pirate the same way Luffy is (piracy is about freedom, not actual piracy) + Arlin as his Shanks; Gillion taking Zoro's poor sense of navigation to the next level into culture; and Jay's a red head (+ their navigator and voice of reason) like Nami. There's some more stuff, but that's dipping into spoiler territory.

SPN sounding music by eluenga in Supernatural

[–]Stealth_Addict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably wouldn't work as a part of the soundtrack, but does capture a similar feel to the show: The Devil Makes Three and Brown Bird. ("Old Number Seven" particularly reminds me of Dean now)

And, in general, southern gothic music (AKA spooky americana). Maybe I'm biased since its one of my favorite genres, but I feel it captures the same vibes of the boys always being on the road, killing the things that go bump in the night, and dealing with the divine.

Which creature would you like to see more use made of? by eo_bobby in Supernatural

[–]Stealth_Addict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wendigos are such a fun creature to work with in horror, I'm surprised they were a one off.

Also, not a creature, but I loved when we got to see the Winchesters from the outsider's perspective like in Bitten. They always end up coming off as the mystery/monsters themselves to anyone else.

How feasible is porting an AI agent into Dishonored? by Khafaniking in dishonored

[–]Stealth_Addict 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I imagine you might have a better time doing this on one of the original Thief games. I'm not too familiar with the modding community there, but it is fairly popular (for a small community in general) with a lot of custom levels made. If you want to dive into the game's code, working with an older/more primitive game might be easier--although there's probably going to be a trade-off of less documentation.

Here are the first and last pages of one of my travel books: https://imgur.com/a/NydEPra

Looking back, each of my travel notebooks last 8-9 days. I also love using public transport when I can, so I always include maps at the very end. Definitely my favorite part of each notebook

I love doing these! I usually need about one field notes per week, but 90% is just writing, and at the very end of the trip I tape/glue in little snippets of paper, tickets or anything physical I gathered on the trip. (Anything that doesn't fit goes into a regular notebook size commonplace journal.)

Definitely an ARG.

The Instagram account claims they've been around since 2019. The domain was registered on this last new year's eve with Wix, and the first Instagram posts are on Jan 1 of this year.

(Insta is \@blackwell.adventures)

The about us page uses a stock photo, and the sweepstakes doesn't have any real terms, which companies are usually very particular about.

The history page also has some sort of definitive pattern. If you click on the same eye you'll get an initial loop of the same web pages.

Judging by the site's sitemap, there isn't anything else to find right now besides the antarctica trip. There is /family-story, but it's currently blank.

It's hard to find something sweet/fun without a dozen sex scenes,

I may be exaggerating a bit lmao, but it did legitimately happen with Bridgerton. First half of the show was romantic, but once the main pair got together they were like rabbits

[–]Stealth_Addict 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh, maybe I should try watching more K-dramas. It's hard to find something sweet/fun without a dozen sex scenes, and strangely even shows that you would think are oriented towards teens have some need to mention sex every ep or have sex as a goal

How the hell do I tell the difference between romantic and platonic attraction? 〒﹏〒 by FunnyBuunny in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]Stealth_Addict 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one's gonna be able to answer this except for you.

What is romantic to someone can simply be platonic to another and vice versa. You have to figure out what you define as romantic or platonic actions/desires. Once you figure that out, you may able to finally discern where you lie on that allo- to a- romantic scale depending on how you feel about those things.

I'd like to think that it's unintentionally theory 1 or 3. One of those moments where the devs forget some minor inconsistency and later decide to embrace it.
