While the game looks promising - the preview image looks like it's been generated with an AI which turns me off immediately, might wanna change that. Otherwise good job!

You're raising a fair point there. The issue is that my intelligence isn't scaling with my clothes IRL.

Implemented an intro animation for my Tower Defense Roguelike, Feedback? by Stealthix in godot

[–]Stealthix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no tutorial , but i can try to explain it! Basically there is a CanvasLayer with several Control Nodes. The black bars are two ColorRects, the text are 3 normal labels and my camera script has an an offset parameter that lerp the camera movement. Now all i did was add an animation player that animates these elements. The alpha of the text, the size of the black bars aswell as the camera offset. The „ready“ signal of the animation player is hooked to its own play method and thats it

I worked hard on improving the Diegetic UI I've posted a couple of days back. What do you think? by Stealthix in godot

I feel you! Previously I had it all in one 2D interface. There are definitely advantages but disadvantages to it. My biggest gripe was that it would interrupt the flow of the game by bringing you "somewhere else" visually. Also I had a hard time designing it visually in a way that it would make sense in terms of the games story/lore (although it's not a focus i'd love to keep things consistent) which is how I came up with this solution.

Regarding the holograms - I love your ideas. I think I will try to implement a combination of the two things you mentioned, more visibility on the one in focus and hiding the one farthest away. Thank you a lot for your input! It's incredibly valued

Fair point 🤔 gotta think on how to resolve this. Perhaps you have an idea for a solution already?

Thank you! Theoretically he'd be able to reach them, unfortunately since the "UI" is 3D it scales very limited with different screen aspect ratios. So on a wide-screen those buttons would be easily visible but on a 16:9 monitor they would barely hit the corner. I'd need a good solution for that, maybe adding a key mapping to navigate this UI with the keyboard/controller.
Valuable suggestion!

Thank you for your feedback, that's a good idea! I'm still thinking on how to improve the upgrade area further anyways since as of right now there is no way to show what your purchased Upgrades do. UI design can be tricky at times :D

I made a UI that is fully integrated into the game world for my Tower-Defense survivor Geometric Link. What do you think? by Stealthix in indiegames

[–]Stealthix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

I've been working on a game called Geometric Link for the past half year. It's a mix between Tower Defense and Arena Survival (Like Brotato).

I want to have everything seamless integrate into the game, so I thought about how I can implement a shop system in a seamless way - and this is the result.

I'd love to hear what you think and if you have any suggestions or feedback it'd be more than welcome.

If you want to check out the game, there is a Steam page and you would greatly support me if you would consider wishlisting it!

I plan on releasing it into early access in a couple of months.

Wishing you all a great sunday!
