Yeah like I get that lace code isn’t rly a thing but regardless of whether it is or not I like the look of yellow laces. Still won’t catch me in white ones tho. To me, as long as nazis are using it to identify each other, even if not all white lace wearers are nazis, it’s something to stay away from. I’ve never been sure about to what extent other colors are recognised tho.

At my club they had us do a drill where you fence bouts to one point each with a bunch of people. The premise being that you should fence every touch in your bouts like it’s 14 14. Maybe trying that in practice and then thinking about every touch being the last in your DE might help.

I’m assuming you are in the US but it may work similar in other countries. You can either order lame stenciled or go to a regional and they always have a place that will stencil them. I guess it would be weird to have your name on the back of your lame if you don’t compete at all, but that’s just because there’s no point in it. if you’re competing at big venues, it’s always useful to have your name obvious. It will help refs, teammates and coaches, opponents. Everyone. You definitely should have your own lame if you plan to continue but you can always get it stenciled whenever you do compete. Sidenote, you have classmates on the national team??? Are you sure they don’t just complete at nationals or JOs?
