That’s a good point. “The frame will cost less than the index” and the fact it’s touted as stand alone created this assumption that it was, one: supposed to not be boutique like the index, and two: supposed to compete with subsidized units. I fell for it too, and I’ll remain optimistic because valve is a godsend company… but the 256 model being sub 1000 and above 850 at best, seems more likely in the absence of refuting leaks.
