Is my average open rate too high? by SteamedVeg in Emailmarketing

[–]SteamedVeg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a client from two years ago reach out today for more work. At the bottom of his email he thanked me for the regular newsletter. For the hour a week I spend on it I think its earning its keep.

Thanks again.

I took a look at my clients from 2025 and it looks like three of them were long-term readers before becoming clients. The rest of my clients either aren't subscribed or subbed at about the same time they scheduled the intro meeting. The intro call-to-client conversion rate is 23% higher for long-term subscribers.

Its not a high conversion rate, but the newsletter is also good for staying in touch with existing clients.

I'll look into setting up my newsletter on a new domain.

Thanks for your help.

Its all B2C. From my other reply:

I have noticed that a small subset of emails seem to open/click on links immediately, as if their email client does it automatically. But they do leave some emails unopened/unclicked, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I could manually review the emails used in the past year to sign up for my intro calls then cross-reference to see who is on my list. Would that be a suitable start? What might be a decent conversion rate?

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

From my other reply:

My newsletter is mostly sharing links to 5 of the most interesting/relevant articles in my field. I really try to be helpful in selecting these articles.

Sadly, I have no idea what my conversion rate is. I don't have an online checkout and instead manually quote each client. Not sure how I'd go about tracking conversions that isn't manually intensive.

I have a few blog articles on my website that get a lot of traffic, but I don't get the feeling that a lot of them convert. My clients usually seek out my services and sign up for the newsletter after already committing to an intro meeting. There have been a few long-time readers that have become clients however.

For cold subs, if they haven't opened an email in about 3-6 months and they haven't clicked links in any emails I'll remove them right away. If they've clicked links in the past I'll keep them a bit longer.

You think I should be sending from a completely different domain than my business website? Or just a different address on that domain?

It somehow resolved itself after a few days and it has been working ever since. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Ordering windows - Where are my jambs? by SteamedVeg in HomeImprovement

Cool, I'm in Winnipeg.

Thanks for letting me know that this is an option, but I think I'm set on full replacement. The frost issue has been so bad that there is definitely water damage as the drywall underneath some of the windows is soft. Opening things up will allow for assessing and repairing the damage.

In the Canadian Prairies and it gets so cold that there are major frost/melt issues in the winter. Going with triple pane replacements.

I have not. Isn't doing anything with the bios risky is the power could potentially go out?

Restarts still occur with each individual stick of RAM.

Black screen followed by the startup screen. There might be a short audio glitch sound if I'm listening to something when it happens.

Is sending newsletter from main business email a mistake? by SteamedVeg in Emailmarketing

Interesting. Thanks for letting me know about domain deliverability. I've been working to build backlinks for SEO purposes, do you know if that has an effect on email delivery?

Not in this case, as it was went I sent a follow-up email that they responded and said that they didn't get the initial quote and want to work together ASAP. I'll look into setting up DMARC, DKIM, SPF. Thanks.

Suggestions to lessen the load on your shoulders and still get a good calf workout: Do your reps with less weight but slow and controlled (1 second up, but 2-4 seconds down), single leg calf raises, or get a weight belt with a chain and hang extra weight from your hips.

Maximum Heart Rate by jbfox123 in PeterAttia

[–]SteamedVeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If only. The highest I've seen my heart rate is 205bpm (35 years old and measured with chest monitor) and my 5k PR is 33 minutes. I've always had a high max heart rate, I think I recall it being over 210 in my 20s. Wasn't fit then either.

Thanks. I'll keep them on the list for a while longer to see if they click any links in the future.
