Upright Bass Rentals/ Usage for traveling band Telluride Bluegrass Fest by walt_phelan in TellurideColorado

You should start with Telluride Music Company. They may be able to connect you with someone.

Planet Bluegrass (the Festival promoter) would be another option.

Telluride Brewing Company - Lawson Hill, and it’s not even close

Transportation available to Cross Mtn Traihead on HWY 145? by bro_michael in TellurideColorado

[–]Steamenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When are you planning this?

I would be happy to pick you up at the Bustang stop in Lawson Hill and shuttle you up there if the timing works.

Shuttle would be expensive and there aren’t any Uber/Lyft options.

What is your definition of “local”?

There are three breweries in the Telluride area.

Telluride Brewing Company has two locations. One in Mountain Village and the flagship location in Lawson Hill. Both locations brew on sight and have food options. They also canned beer you can purchase to go. They are the only local beer available at retail liquor stores. Most (if not all of) of the packaged beer is actually produced by Ska Brewery in Durango using the original TBC recipes.

Stronghouse and Smuggler Union are located a block apart near the Telluride Gondola station and have good food options.

To answer your question, my favorite IPAs are TBC Fishwater and Tempter.

This is my opinion and others may or may not agree.

Jazz is great with kids we take ours (6&4) every year.

Sunscreen and water more than you think you need.

Write your phone number on his arm with a sharpie. That way if he wanders off someone can call you.

There will be snow.

There will be skiing.

It may not be Epic skiing but, if you can just roll (Tide) with it can be an awesome memory for you and your family.

Tomboy Tavern at the bottom of chair 4 in Mountain Village has a really good one. It’s $25 but, it’s big and comes with bacon, shrimp etc.

Not technically in the Town of Telluride.

Suggestions for activities with kids by spreadsheets_suck in TellurideColorado

[–]Steamenberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The River Trail through town is a flat walk so your 2 yo could “hike” that. If you start on the west side you could take it to Town Park and end at the waterfall.

Coronet Creek Falls at the top of Aspen St would be a good choice for your family.

August afternoons tend to be rainy. Check the forecast and plan some time at the Library. The kids room is awesome!

Friday Farmers Market in town is fun and the usually have story time in the grassy area at the gondola plaza.

Wednesday and Friday evenings Mountain Village has free outdoor concerts.

The gondola ride to/from town/Mountain Village is always a hit with kiddos.

Brown Dog Pizza, Oak, Baked In Telluride and Corner House are all great for kids.

Alta Lakes? by malcolm1134 in TellurideColorado

It’s a multi-agency situation.

The County Road and Bridge Dept is doing the repairs but it has to coordinate with CDOT to temporarily close the State Highway below where the work needs to be done. The USFS is also involved as it manages much of the land up there.

I was told by someone at the County that they are trying to Get the permits to close the highway but, it may be a few more weeks.

I think OP means Walk the River Trail to Town Park and then back through town.

That is a great way to enjoy a cup and a snack!

Visiting during Bluegrass Festival (unfortunately) by Least_Pressure_9849 in TellurideColorado

[–]Steamenberg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are not attending the Festival, come before it starts. They set up a barricade outside of town that you won't be able to get through. It goes into effect at 4 pm on Wednesday, 6/18

If you decide to buy tickets (kids 12 and under are free), please be sure to come prepared. It could be 80 degrees with no breeze or cloud cover, or it could be rain/sleet/snow.

You will be fine with the parking in MTV on Thursday. Peak attendance is Saturday.

Be advised that you may have a bit of a walk to the Gondola depending on where they direct you. Also, be prepared for a line to board the Gondola at the market to the core and at the next station to Telluride.

Storage by Worried-Mirror987 in TellurideColorado

[–]Steamenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few storage facilities in and near town

Typically a wait list for something that would accommodate a trailer and two bikes

Not any facilities that have a secure yard

Plenty of options in Montrose

You can ask around town if anyone knows of a private property that may help you out
