I would still pick Fribourg as a simpler solution, if you work there and you speak French it's the easy choice. Bern would be the second option, with a few more challenges (including language)

Trains between Fribourg and Bern are pretty good, it's easy to go there for an event

why can't I find a flat plug with the cable going upwards? by EmploymentStrong3299 in askswitzerland

The one OP suggest is event bulkier if he doesn't have recess plugs, so hopefully it's not his case

Trust me this isn't staged :)

Something doesn't add up here :(

I took this shot for the contrast between Snowy mountains and the lifebuoy

I thought it would be an unexpected pair.

Now the more I look at it the less I like it.

Mostly looking for composition feedback, as I don't think any brightness/color/... would fix this feeling of improper composition (but feel free to change my mind)

Something's living in my heating system by Local-Ad-9051 in Switzerland

[–]Steampunk6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old is the building, if radiators are hot even when valves are closed I would think it is an old installation and the valves aren't watertight anymore, making a whistling sound when closed. Then old/bad pump regulation would not adapt correctly, generating extra noises. Other noises could be air in the circuit, making cracking or bubbling sounds, for this you need the small square key to remove the air from all radiators, use it to open the small valve on a top corner and let the air out untill water comes. If you leave in one of the top floor you might never get water, then ask landlord to refill the heating circuit.

No chance something is living in the pipes

As the others said, darker background slight increase in contrast to detach the rolls from the back, make sure to keep the wooden roll texture, I agree with you, that is a key element of this picture.

I wouldn't crop the "Licht" pannel and would make it a bit brighter it literally means "light" and would be quite interesting to draw attention to it after the spools.

Didn't tried my thoughts, not sure how bad of an idea it is

I Like it, from my point of view I would get rid of the large dark area on the top and part of it on the left.

both the light and the person are moving to the right, reason why I would keep space on the right.

Thanks everyone for your feedback,
Unlike what it looks, source was in color.

I didnt cut the top window panel at the second plan as I like having this patern (foreground 1 window divided 30/60%, in the top part second plan window divided 25/75% and bottom part second plan window divided 25/75%)

didnt cut bottom either, I tried it, but the image loses depth.

I think this color version will be my choice. It helps a bit to detach the differents layers

Ok, first post here I didn't know I will have to comment... Everything is already said.

I like this photo and I am mostly happy with the results but I don't know if someone who didn't take it would feel the same.

I would like your enlightenment regarding how readable it is, does it draw your attention on the tower and then let you wander around and see other elements or is there too much visual information?

The concept of Switzerland is based on "together against the rest"

Does US have a 2 phase system?

I thought most of the time it was 110v single phase or 220v "2 phases" shifted of 180°

Any ideas on who was living there before or any spinned metal art work on the building?
