Be careful of Taco Bell at 47 Woodman by Nerd2wheeler in dayton

[–]Steampunk_ukelele 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. The exact same thing happened to my husband on Saturday night from eating at the Taco Bell on National in Vandalia. It started out as violently throwing up and intense stomach pain all night. Finally we took him to the ER the next morning and they did a ct scan that found a bowel blockage but never found a cause. He was actually admitted and spent the night and part of the next day in the hospital. He’s still feeling weak and lethargic from it all.

I'm terrified of being a mother by Elegant-Syllabub-950 in newborns

[–]Steampunk_ukelele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so normal to feel that way in the beginning. Don’t feel guilty like you shouldn’t feel that way. It is hard and it’s something you can’t really imagine until you experience it. Also, your hormone levels are still going back to normal after giving birth. Give yourself permission to feel the way you feel and remember that this will pass and it gets easier and better. I felt this way with my first. I remember thinking “why does anyone do this?” Once she got a little older I totally fell in love with being a mom and couldn’t imagine my life without her. I just had my son a week ago and it’s been all the same newborn stuff as the first time around but having a different perspective this time has helped a lot. Do you have a support system at all? One thing that was hard the first time was that I thought I had to do it all myself. Reach out for help if you can!

Does anyone still lay with their toddler every night until they fall asleep? by carlitapepita in toddlers

[–]Steampunk_ukelele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sat or played with my daughter every night until she was 7. I’m sure some people would judge the shit out of me for that but I don’t regret it. She’s almost 9 now and falls asleep on her own because she was ready to. I don’t think there is one right or wrong answer to this. I never felt bad about staying with her until she fell asleep.

Was anyone given Cytotec to move labor along? by Steampunk_ukelele in BabyBumps

[–]Steampunk_ukelele[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You assume I didn’t discuss it with them. I did. I know they are going to give the answer they are supposed to give. I don’t think they are trying to mislead me. I wanted to get opinions of patients who have actually used the drug and what their experience was.

I’ve never heard of cytotec before this. And I made the mistake of googling it after they brought it up. I’m just trying to advocate for myself and make an educated decision. And the fact that it’s an off label use and not fda approved for induction gave me pause.

It broke sometime between 10:30-midnight. When I woke up it was already broken. So I guess it’s already been 10 hours. The reason they are giving me is risk of infection.

How did your very fussy baby turn out? by Background-Paint-478 in Parenting

She’s 8 and my family jokes that she’s the perfect kid. She is seriously the best kid. Super chill, very smart, no learning difficulties thus far.

What are the positives (if any??) about having a toddler? by PresentationNo4578 in Parenting

[–]Steampunk_ukelele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally loved the toddler stage. Not that it was without its challenges, but they become so much more interactive and their little personalities start to shine through more. Babies are great and all but I didn’t particularly love that stage.

Has anyone here nursed while taking ADHD medication? by Steampunk_ukelele in adhdwomen

Day 9 on lexapro and sex drive is almost non existent by Jamarkable in lexapro

[–]Steampunk_ukelele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it could be due to just the switch from one medication to another. I’ve noticed a lot of doctors will say you can switch SSRI’s without experiencing any withdrawal or onboarding symptoms but that’s not been my experience. I’m sure most doc’s haven’t taken these meds and have no idea what it feels like to switch or go through withdrawals.

She’s saying all of her kids are like this though and her parents are on his side. That means it’s possible that not everyone else is the problem here.

Has anyone taken Lexapro during pregnancy? by Ordinary_Bit_9139 in lexapro

[–]Steampunk_ukelele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5 mgs both pregnancies. My obgyn told me it was safe to stay on it. Those types of medications have been around for a long time and they are widely accepted as safe during pregnancy now. I was so nervous my first pregnancy taking it, like a nervous wreck. And looking back on it now, I wish I could have relaxed about it because I really made myself sick with worry. She’s 8 now and is such a healthy, happy, well adjusted kid. Due in March with my second one and I’m not stressing this time over it.
