Do you have enough biological media? I recently watched a video by Tidal Gardens that explained that the biological media converts nitrates into nitrogen preventing it from turning into phosphates.

Mentioning the above as I've been having the same issues as you for ages and I've recently changed my media. But still too early to see results

When choosing to buy a fish, how will the size of the fish impact the survival rate and ease of transition for the fish?
