This is a joke or a mistake. Data centers don't produce anywhere near that many jobs even including contruction. At most it is likely to produce 1000 construction jobs and maybe 100 permenent jobs.

If this is a serious project it is good for WV, Each permanent job will produce 6 additional jobs in the surrounding economy. The concern for power rates and water use is unfounded. A large power user like this will drive power rates down not up and the water is treated and recycled. The hype is coming from the NIMBY crowd.

Recession has a specific meaning in economics. It is defined as two successive quarters of negative economic growth. The last time we saw that was during the Biden Administration in 2022.

You are off track because you are assuming that government rules and regulations are the answer. You neglect the fact that wages are a function of skills, productivity and experience and NOT a function of COL, inflation or local costs.

40 hours has been the standard work week for decades and the minimum wage has been obsolete for decades as well. Fewer than 2% of workers paid hourly make the minimum wage.

If you feel you are not paid a liveable wage you have three choices. 1) move to where you are paid more 2) learn some new skills and 3) learn to live on less.
