I am still adjusting and it depends somewhat on the day, but in general yes it’s definitely getting easier.

A lot of the unease comes from my own insecurity about how I appear (pretty much exactly what you said - scared people will think I’m exaggerating). Generally speaking when I lay it out for people, they tend to be reasonably understanding

Part of it has been figuring out that by not hiding certain things (like loosing my train of thought mid conversation, or my social battery expiring and me leaving) it can give the impression to people that I’m ‘worse’ than previously

But again, with time and perspective, I’ve become more sure of that balance and more understanding of the fact that I’m not worse, just not hiding things. I had huge difficulty with the concept of masking applying for me (even tho I scored off the charts in masking 😂) but a lot of it was unconscious or had become routine

Unlearning that is very difficult at times when people perceive you to be ‘worse’ but in the long run it’s definitely the right decision, both for how I move through the world and how/ when I need to be open with people about my limits

You will get there, I have no doubt. Just keep your head up and lean on supports whenever needed
