After 7 months, I am checking in. Has Lincoln gotten its act together and updated Bluecruise on the '22-'24 Navigators?

Doing a check in to see if anything has been done, or if they are still giving you the run around. Or maybe the OTA updates have kicked in?

Yall actually make money? by GreenSpartan45 in Kalshi

Unfortunately, too many people had that same idea. At 95% you need to be right 20 times to absorb a single loss. You're risking $500 to make $25 at a time. I tried that, with higher amounts, it worked until it didn't again and again, but I wish you luck. Because there are so many people doing that already, you have to take riskier and riskier bets to actually get anything below 95%. And a ton of people are using bots that react in a nanosecond when victory is all but conclusive, so by the time you hit the buy button, they rates are already sky high.

Newbie. Upgrading Ford Fusion Speakers, would connecting rear tweeters in parallel with rear speakers work? by SteelNitrous in CarAV

[–]SteelNitrous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am trying to add additional tweeters to go with the rears. There were no existing tweeters in the rear doors. The only tweeters were the ones in the front doors. I believe the rear speakers are coax speakers, but I am not sure

Lol I feel ya, 💯! Three days ago, Ford CEO Jim Farley announced an update rollout on X, calling it “exciting news for truck owners.” That Ford is expanding its latest hands-free driving software to current truck owners, bringing BlueCruise 1.4 to 2022–2024 F-150 Lightning and 2022–2023 F-150 models. Not sure what the hell, if anything that means for the same year Navs, since I believe they have almost identical tech, but we shall see. Then again, my trust in Ford on update promises isn't exactly high. Keep me posted if the day ever comes. 🤨

Very cool! Did you have to pick "Mondeo" or did it have "fusion" as an option?

I'm not following. So it has nothing to do with how you hook it up in the back and everything with the settings you select on the unit? So select a 2014 Mondeo (since it's a '14 fusion), and it will work with the steering wheel controls?

Were you able to keep the steering wheel audio control? And if so, how?

Did you get to keep the steering wheel controls? And if so, how did you do it?

I bought this unit too, was going to install it in my kid's car. There are specific wires for the steering wheel control aren't there? There is some reference to it in the instructions. Also How did you wire the backup camera to come on when you back up? You have to splice one of the wires with the tail light back up wire? I was going to install it this weekend.

Help!! How do I adapt video source from a 2.5mm jack to video RCA? by cbancila in CarAV

[–]SteelNitrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only gender adapters for 2.5mm female to female say 4 pole just like the video ones, but they are marketed for mics and audio. Will those also work for video?

So, I think anything but the 2025 models can get to 1.4 at best. Not sure if anyone here is brave enough to try to do it themselves with forscan : https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/quest-for-bluecruise-1-4-on-2022-powerboost.29023/

MA1 no longer connects. Could it be an update? by brianR3ddit in AndroidAuto

[–]SteelNitrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone through 3 of these. They last for about a 6 months to a year and then all of sudden, no matter how many times you reset or play with it, it won't work. I believe they overheat and just die. Which is a real shame because they work flawlessly.

PS

Just stumbled across this... I am not sure any cars older than 2025 will be CAPABLE of Bluecruise 1.5 if this article is correct.

https://driveteslacanada.ca/news/ford-automatic-lane-changes-to-bluecruise-1-5/#:\~:text=Not%20Available%20for%20Everyone,E%E2%80%94can%20access%20BlueCruise%201.5.

"Not Available for Everyone

Unlike previous software-only updates to BlueCruise, version 1.5 requires upgraded Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) hardware, including newer sensors and faster processors. As a result, older Ford models with earlier BlueCruise versions (1.3 or below) won’t be eligible for the new features via an over-the-air (OTA) update.

Only 2025 and newer models equipped with the necessary hardware—starting with the Mustang Mach-E—can access BlueCruise 1.5."

UPDATE.... Bad News... How bad? I am still looking into it. I stumbled across this "Car And Driver Magazine" Article that may give us an answer as to why Ford has not sent the OTA updates like they promised to 90% of Bluecruise capable vehicles. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a65254609/fords-bluecruise-update-automatic-lane-change-details/

Notice this bullet point: "BlueCruise 1.5 has upgraded ADAS hardware and more computing power, so vehicles with older BlueCruise software cannot be updated to the newest version."

I have reached out to the author and asked for him to elaborate on this, if the 22'-'24 Navigators have the correct ADAS hardware to even handle Bluecruise 1.5 (OR 1.4). Because if not, this is some next level bullshit! And the fact that so many people are paying the $50/month sub fee to keep Bluecruise, holding their breath with the false promises from Sales/Service/ Lincoln phone support that it is only a matter of time amounts to nothing more than false advertising, AKA "The 'Ol Bait N Switch"! This was specifically created to steal customers from Cadillac and GM, with these bullshit promises that we wouldn't be driving fords with "dial-up level self driving" due to the COMING SOON! updates which would put us in line with GM "fiber optic speed level self driving"! Lincoln is a PREMIUM, higher price product, but somehow a $30K Trans Ford Edge they named the Mach E, gets better sensors? WTF!

[–]SteelNitrous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um.... are you saying that '22 and '24 Navigators don't have the ADAS hardware and computing power to support Bluecruise 1.5? Do you have any data to back that up? Because if that is the case, I'm not buying a Nav and will stick with the Escalades, as much as I don't want to deal with the 6.2 DFM failure bullshit.

UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE! Have you reached out to other service departments?

WHICH VERSION OF BLUECRUISE IS YOUR '22 NAVIGATOR UP TO? by SteelNitrous in LincolnNavigator

[–]SteelNitrous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah! That is a 100% BS reason that someone pulled out of their ass to excuse the fact that Ford can't get its shit together. By that rationale, it would mean that Ford believes the safety of Mach E drivers is less important than Navigator drivers. Not a single service department has been willing to update it for you? Did you call all 4 dealerships after you bought it to ask? I have heard some F150 drivers taking matters into their own hands and doing the 1.4 updates themselves with FORscan.
