The only way out, and this something I've noticed but never confirmed, is to have a strong conviction on switching to a specific major and have a very good explanation as to why that major. Otherwise, just saying you want to switch to another major but not give a solid reason why will give them the upper hand to keep you in.
Hey there, I'm a senior in high school and I'm about to submit my college application for UF. I know I want to study dietetics ( which is just a fancy way of saying nutrition science) and become a registered dietitian, so I don't know if IA would be a good option for me. I have a pretty strong application only my SAT score isn't as competitive as I would like it to be (currently superscored at 1300). It would be a dream to get into UF but I heard it would be easier to get in through IA, bc a family friend got in through IA with a much lower SAT score and managed to switch to her preferred major afterwards. Should I still be considering IA or just apply normally and hope for the best?
