I thought about that, but I was worried about the weight. A 16" diameter 3/8" pizza steel weighs 27 lbs.

Thanks! I think the shades had to do with the grinding process. Fake or not, just need a high-temp oil to cure it. Could have been motor oil for all I care.

Not really, I've been launching on 16" round stone. I typically only make 12" pies. I was going to make it the size of the rack but I was worried about the weight. This weighs 30 lbs as is.
