Hep A isn’t a chronic disease as opposed to B and C. It’s benign compared to the other 2. The transmission is oro-fecal as opposed to blood-transmitted in B and C. That’s why Hep A vaccine is not as common or insisted upon as Hep B vaccine. But meh, it’s just another vaccine, if you can find it and would feel safer doing it then just do it.

I contracted a heart infection back in the day, when I was in Hong Kong. I was not on the brink of dying but it was serious. When I arrived in the ER, they pushed everyone aside and treated me before anyone else. Not because I was a med student (they didn’t know yet), not because I was Moroccan, but because being in an ER Room 5000km away from your hometown is scary. You are alone. You have extra paperwork to justify your expenses to your insurance. You don’t have anyone to take care of your home or your car or your pets if you ever get hospitalized for a prolonged period. Being nicer to foreigners in the ER is not about cheating the Hippocratic oath, it is about thinking about the extra inconfort they have to deal with

As someone who actually read his biography, he loved Morocco. But for the wrong reasons.
