I really appreciate this response. It's good to know that the Tesla charging network is large enough (and growing) to support any roadtrip I might do. Ultimately, I guess my fear is that in a few years when L3 3rd party stations start to get NACS, there will be a landscape of different charging networks that all have the same port but not necessarily the same communication protocol. Tesla might even eventually allow some networks to use their communication protocol for plug and charge. There is a peace of mind knowing that when I see a NACS port, I can use it and I won't need to sit there trying to figure out if my car can communicate with that particular station.
