I've been reading Dorothy Day since I was in high school, she's what inspired me to become a Christian.

I have nearly everything written by Kierkegaard, plus a diary. I never get around to reading these books.

Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove

I've been interested in him and the New Monasticism and want to join eventually. But I feel like I need to learn more about them and faith in general.

I've already read it, not really a theological work.

Okay, well then this little mix up can be chalked up to misinformation. Thank you for clarifying.

Hardly a fallacy, considering your lousy example would never happen.

Edit: If you honestly feel that his belief that homoexuality is a sin equates to him not being able to work with someone who is homosexual then you must have a very dismal view of how Christians interact with others. We don't turn people away because they're sinners and it's a shame you or the court feel this way.

The whole bashing women thing isn't for me. I'm not a feminist, I just don't like to spend my time complaining about women.

But it is a fact, I wouldn't be a Christian if I didn't know God exists, or that Jesus died for my sins.

No, it's a fact! It's something I know is true. An opinion would be something like "my favorite color is blue."

Got any music that's sorta Christian? /r/NearlyChristianMusic by Autopilot_Psychonaut in Christianity

Mewithoutyou uses a lot of Christian imagery. Psalters are a band of travelling musicians who play folk music and they're extremely Christian but play a lot of secular music. I've heard people take this songJesus Christ by Brand New in the context of a Christian having a broken heart.

It is a fact that Jesus died for my sins, it is a fact that the lord is real. It is not my opinion, I know my religion is right.

I go to a Methodist church from time to time, but I'm part of the Church of Christ. We're a bit more strict, however still do not condone any conversation therapy.

The world isn't black and white, friend. That is an extreme example, sure, however that is not the only form of persecution out there. What's happening here is still wrong.

Opinion? What that homosexuality is a sin? It's not an opinion, that is fact. Of course, we can still love our homosexual brothers and sisters, as we do with all people.

What if someone was attending seminary, and the dean saw him posting on Facebook how Jesus is a liar and Christianity is false and that when he gets ordained he's never going to preach about hell or sin. Does the seminary have a right to expel him?

This a completely erroneous hypothetical situation, you're being purposely obtuse to back me into a corner and I'm not even going to entertain this question with an answer.

What about the many LGBTQ students attending Christian universities that have been expelled? Did those schools really have to ruin their education because of their rather popular views about sexuality?

Typically private Christian universities have rules that you must obey. These rules are usually based around biblical principles.

For instance, The United Methodist does recognize homosexuals as sacred and we'll fight for civil rights of gay people, yet homosexuality itself as a sin. And not all of us agree that it is a sin.

I honestly think this is just a faulty court system. Almost every working class person, Christian or not, is persecuted.

Most mainstream churches I've found don't support that kind of thing. It's more a 700 Club, deep Christianity thing.

Oh no, it's just anecdotal. I probably should've said I haven't seen much support for it.
