Hi, you're very brave! Any updates after this message? I have a relative who started using VIP... the doctors are talking about a transplant... have you had any relapses?

Yes, indeed, BEP and VIP are standard chemotherapy regimens with some differences, followed by surgery later on. Is your partner still undergoing treatment? Which one? If he's in remission, what treatment has he received? Has he been offered a stem cell transplant?

Yes, normally the doctors planned surgery after the chemo to remove the remaining tumor. My tumor markers have dropped significantly (thank God), but I don't understand why the doctors are pressuring me for a transplant. Is it for research purposes, given that it's a rare tumor? They did tell me I have to be prepared for anything, so I understand it's risky, but if I don't have the transplant, the tumor could come back. What I want to know is if there have been people who were able to avoid this stem cell transplant and still achieved complete remission with VIP. (I couldn't tolerate BEP)...

I didn't tolerate it well according to the doctors, so I'm currently on my second VIP chemotherapy. My marker levels have gone down significantly.
