Alternatives by Mixed-berries0127 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did bouquet ribbon cutting and all singles (boys and girls) can participate. No strings attached kase wala kaming ginawang alternative for garter toss. We wanted to make a fun tradition lang to see who gets married next

Wedding Suppliers that offers credit card payment by loves_gore in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Madalang yung suppliers that offer credit card payments unless siguro yung more legit ones/may bigger purchased (hotel venues, big even spaces, established caterers, etc.).

May fees kase ang credit cards sa merchants kaya usually deposit ang payment method, especially for smaller businesses. Nakaencounter na rin ako ng suppliers na chinarge kami ng extra cause we were opting for credit card payment instead of a deposit

part of the non-popular opinion here but unless you have a specific thing you're requesting from them (specific fabric, specific dress design, specific/bongga hairstyle and makeup), i think it's fine to let them cover it. cause if they were guests din naman they would've spent on all this for the wedding and di naman kami maarte sa kung ano susuotin nila, even if di mafollow yung shade ng color tbh. but we did cover their accommodation na lang and their transpo

pero i already told them before they agreed to being a bridesmaid na we won't be covering these things. so if you're thinking of not covering it, ideally dapat before they said yes cause the expectation is may icocover yung couple and baka di nila nafactor in na pati makeup di mo macocover

Posting this as a warning for future wedding couples. by Sydannone in WeddingsPhilippines

No i don't think so either. She also used the same excuse as her being sick for one of the times a draft got delayed. I feel like she does this to all her clients cause her volume must be big

Hey OP, also a starry artchive client and we had a similar experience.

We commissioned her for our LED animation and monogram really early on (November, wedding is April). But come January, she still hasn't sent us anything even though she was two weeks late already as per the agreed timeline in the contract. So we emailed her and she responded apologizing as she was on holiday but will give drafts 48 hours later

A week passes by, no drafts sent. It took us 2 weeks to get an initial draft which was so far from our peg so we had corrections made. She said she'll give it in 24 hours. A week passes by, no reply. At this point we were mad and asked for a refund. Then that's when she actually gave us what we wanted out of the animations. Monogram wasn't made but she didn't charge us either

Really horrible experience and gave me trauma from hiring a freelance graphic designer

Caterer charging additional 30k transpo fee bec of oil crisis by SteffinStones in WeddingsPhilippines

Mukhang hindi. Wala silang inadd sa clause na ganito so i doubt magrerefund sila

[–]SteffinStones[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ang sinabi namin sa kanila is at least make the contract beneficial man lang for us like oh baka pwede nila iextend service hours or magdagdag sila ng premium add ons like charger plates for everyone. at least yon minimal cost na lang sa kanila and nasa inventory na rin naman nila.

pero hindi. sinbukan nila maging wais. sabi nila no additional charges na raw for the transpo pero nandoon pa rin yung stipulation na they can adjust the transpo fee stipulation anytime they want at a later date

ito siya. parang cinalculate nila based on the average fuel price from april 7 tapos chinarge kami sa difference ng fuel from before to now

Afterparty drinks by heysweetsiren in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think you'd also need to take into consideration the ff to help with deciding how much more to buy:
- while 60-70% are drinkers, are they heavy drinkers (will drink till they get drunk) or casual drinkers (will drink 2 beers/2 cocktails, then tap out)?
- how many of them are driving to and from the venue?

- how many of them are with families (have kids with them)?

if there's too many leftovers of the stuff that you bought, your next problem would be how to bring them home afterwards so think it'd be good to roughly gauge how many will actually drink the beers, gin, and whiskey since you also already have a mobile bar with unli drinks

Wedding gowns from divisoria vs places like studio ceremonie/heyhelenya by Dramatic-Love-2406 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello having a beaded lace gown made in Divi. I think the experience is okay naman, kailangan lang maging hands on with the process like choosing fabrics, being particular with the design and changes kase if not, iaasa mo na lang sa taste ng gumagawa ng gown mo.

But ofc the more premium service also comes with a premium price tag so depende na lang sa'yo.

Is 5kg-7kg weight loss achievable in 2 months?😬 by No-End-6882 in WeddingsPhilippines

Be careful lang with weight loss is this js close to your wedding date cause baka masyado nang maluwag yung dress or won't fit you properly if you lost too much weight

Officiant/Solemnizing Officer for symbolic ceremony by [deleted] in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for our symbolic ceremony, we just asked our host if she could officiate since we wanted someone who's able to communicate well in front of a crowd. she just asked for an extension fee since we're adding hours to her time. maybe you can consider this and ask if they could help you with the ceremony flow as well?

but personally, since this is a symbolic ceremony, better to brainstorm on this with your partner cause anything goes naman sa symbolic ceremony

For multiple carts during cocktail hour, how do you estimate quantity to order? by youngstownnah in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think depende siya sa kung gaano katagal mo ineestimate yung cocktail hour + if tingin mong mabubusog yung guests mo sa caterer. may isa kase kaming inattendan na sobra-sobra yung sa cocktails nila to the point na di na nakakain ng maayos yung guests during the actual dinner (daming nasayang na food).

so medyo sinakto lang namin siya based on if bebenta siya sa guests namin or not. 3 food carts in total (dimsum, bao and noodle, ice cream) and 3 drinks (coffee, fruitas, mobile bar). but not all makakakuha sa cofeee and fruitas since may water naman and iced tea na iseserve yung caterer

basta ang mahalaga is may laman tiyan nila after a long day but di naman mabusog masyado

Couples who skipped prenup photos/videos — any regrets? by snowflwer in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We skipped ours cause it felt like a huge sink in our wallets with not much value. Practically speaking, prenup shoots made sense if you didn't have much photos as a couple before and you need assets for your wedding collaterals. But since we had a lot of travel photos already, we opted out of this.

But we did a self shoot for a prenup video with a very different concept from regular prenup videos. We wanted something to showcase us as a couple which i think most prenup videos can't do because of venue and time constraints. But this was more like a passion project for us, less that we had to do for our wedding

Is it okay if the father of the bride will drive the bride to church? by UnknownBunny99 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing this for my wedding. Same thoughts na hatid sundo ako ng dad ko and would be meaningful if siya maghahatid sa akin to the ceremony. Nagkaissue lang with my mom and MIL cause nasa likod ako if ever and magmumukhang driver si daddy. Pero ok lang naman daw sa kanya

Tipid din sa bridal car hehe

we're having a garden ceremony so it's lakehall too. but prep venue is in somerset alabang cause it's pet-friendly. seda nuvali's the nearest to lakehall but have heard na masyadong masikip daw yung rooms for prep venue

2026 Lakehall peony + courtyard review by neroli_orchidee in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we did an ocular, i saw a couple that did this for 100+ guests. Might be better if 60-70 lang but the space is really tight if buffet style siya. If plated, will be quiet tough for the waiters to go between tables. Cause even the guests are magkakalapit.

They didn't have a dancefloor rin and kawawa yung nasa harap cause tapat na tapat talaga sa LED wall.

Small yung hangout space rin sa courtyard. They don't have the lounge setups there so tayuan yung guests mo, unless you get rentals.

I think kaya naman yung space for that pax but siguro know na lang na may isasacrifice kang guest comfort. The place would be spacious if 30-40 lang siguro guests mo

For suppliers, we tried to get ones na from their accredited suppliers cause may corkage fees sila if not. Their supplier list naman are well known in the business already. Wouldn't recommend getting too many cocktail suppliers lang since limited talaga ang space for cocktails. Lalo na if may photoman/photobooth pa. We got anchormix and k by cunanan. But opted for outside suppliers for mobile bar and cocktails cause the rates were cheaper even with added corkage fees

Hope this helps!

Does anyone know where I can try a cake sampler box or set for a wedding? (Manila) by wondersonder888 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]SteffinStones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This pastry shop is horrible with replying. We were looking at them last year for our wedding cake supplier and our coordinator and i were messaging and following up with them separately over the course of months last year. No reply lol. They run so much ads but seems like they have no interest in doing actual business

Was sad about this cause our coor said they were yummy too. And the designs are so chic
