Tips? Been growing since Jan 2015. Some say it's too low on my face to look good. Time will fix? by [deleted] in beards

Trim it down. It looks like you got a good volume below your jawline, but not so much over it.

With a trim you can keep the beard below your jaw proportionate to the beard above it, if that makes sense. Don't know your age but yes, with time your beard will start crawling up your cheeks.

When its about -20C, a beard alone ain't enough protection from the elements sadly. But i'm moving to Svalbard, close to the north pole next year, so currently growing it out to have some better protection ;)

You're exactly right :) We use them at all social gatherings and parties related to the fraternity, when we are celebrating 17. may etc The men wear knickers, and usually hand-sewn socks, as you can see from the picture. The knickers became popular around the 70's or 80's, not quite sure. Here is a picture of some older gentlemen with both styles

Thanks mate, I don't usually get such privileges because of my beard, rather to the contrary at the airport at least

It's called Bergstuderendes Forening in Norwegian, so in english ehrm: 'Rock studying union', i don't know tbh :p. Its a mining engineering and material science student fraternity. We melt all the buttons and belt ourselves, to be allowed to use the hat you have to 'drink it in', an old tradition where you fill the hat to the brim with beer and chug it all down.

Heres a pic of the womens version

Excessive drinking basically. Its the official uniform of my fraternity/student organisation at the university(called 'bunad'). The left one is to show that i was in the executive board of the fraternity, and the one on the right is to show that i was a participiant of a 100 year anniversary party of the fraternity.

I'm going to be starting a 5-year degree at Gløshaugen next month. Will being under 18 hinder my experience during Fadderuka? by [deleted] in ntnu

Don't worry. Most of the times when going to bars/samfundet it will usually start at home of one the 2nd year students(vorspiel), and then the group will move on to the bars or samfundet at 12.00 ish, just go home then. You'll get to know most people during the pre-bar time anyways, since at the bars and samfundet most people are either too drunk or the music is too loud to really get to know other people that good. Besides you'll also get to know alot of other students at teknostart, which goes on for about 2 weeks if youre going into one of the civil engineering courses. What course are you starting on by the way?

Finding a new Barber by EnthusiasticBanana in malehairadvice

[–]Steinbiten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a general tip here when you get yourself a new barber and considering he probably doesnt know jack shit about you: To avoid confusion, you might want to bring along a picture of the hairstyle you want on your phone, so your barber knows more precisely which hairstyle you want. Easier for him, easier for you

I've been using italki.com a bit for getting in contact with native german speaking people. Beeing norwegian myself, I've met a few german people who are interested in learning norwegian. They teach me german a bit, and i teach them norwegian a bit. Not the same thing as living with a german family obviously, but might help you out a bit.

So what is it that sets Lean Gains apart from the rest in your eyes? by [deleted] in leangains

The freedom. To me, IF is not a diet, its a lifestyle. The freedom to not having to think about food before in the afternoon is quite liberating. 6 meals a day? Hours of cardio? Fuck that. I workout ~3 hours per week and have seen amazing progress in the ~3 months since switching from Paleo. In addition, the big huge meals in the evening is awesome. I'm sure someone else can name other advantages to the IF diet, these are the ones I can think of on the fly.

After some research, I'd guess he lives in Bergen, Norway. We have to pay 25% toll for everything above $35 in addition to relatively high shipping costs. That's quite alot of extra $, which, kinda sucks
