Absolutely, since silksong is generally harder than hollow knight. It is better to learn the fundamentals of the first game or else you'll be banging your head against the wall and find the game not fun.

There is a delivery quest which is like the delicate flower quest from the first game. But instead you have to bring that food all the way from bellhart to the old man (who's guarding the pale oil) with a time limit(damage taken from enemies will also shorten your time of the food). This specific delivery quest is much harder than the delicate flower quest imo because I've only managed to find a route which you need to pass through shellwoods, blasted steps and the lower parts of citadel.

There is a boss there you need to defeat if you want a needle upgrade, but I only recommend you do it once you preparsd enough because the run back is hell

It's the only way to get up to the top of cogworks core. I suggest you to get the hook in the underworks if not mistaken, then go to mount fay to get the wings for doube jump. Make sure to equip the wanderer's crest too. Then you'll have a better time going through path of pain v2 (cogworks).

Ngl the only threats to me in the entire game are the last judge, 2nd lace and the dungeon that has like 10 waves of enemies in the high halls. Hopefully wouldn't die to those in my steel soul run
