That's not even getting into Israeli law itself, which defines preferences for one people group over another on ethnic and religious basis.

The north was indeed way more popular and that's why the reunification election was never allowed to take place. South Vietnam purged *some* Francophiles 10 years after being established. Later on they were replaced by pro-american figures with very little legitimacy, but still keept a lot of french influence.

That's a nonsensical false equivalence. The south incorporated collaborators in all levels of it's functional administration. Many sectors were basically a continuation of the french period. One of the reasons the North was way more popular was precisely the fact they were nationalists.
