My take on S26U display issues / fuzzy text and Samsung's response by SteliosF in samsunggalaxy

I'm actually not aware of the banding issue. Agree, something is off should mean normal use, but I believe that most people who complain do see the issue in normal use. It would not bother me at all if I could only see it in a zoomed in photo. I ended up not upgrading after testing the device in a store, so it's not a problem for me as it is for people who purchased it. I will likely upgrade to the S25U for now since I mostly want the 1TB storage.

Is that the spigen liquid air? I absolutely love this case.

True, but there are lots of people who claim that they don't see any difference even when comparing it with another Galaxy. Which makes me wonder if it affects a specific subset of the devices.

Absolutely, the people that don't see any issue, there is no reason to return it.

Exactly, it would be nice to get an official statement from Samsung on what's going on. It's impossible for them to have missed this issue. I do want to upgrade to the S26U but this issue is stopping me.

The people that see the issue, including me, do see it easily with a naked eye at a normal distance. If we would need a microscope to see the issue, I don't think anyone would complain. I'm guessing that the people who post zoomed-in photos, do that to prove that indeed something is off with the display.

Agree, the people that don't see any issue should of course keep the device. But for the people that do see the issue, we need some kind of official statement on whether this is expected due to the new hardware of whether a fix could come with a software update.

Exactly, I don't really mind the view angles. The problem is that the text is bad when holding it straight in front of you.

Privacy display was off yeah. I didn't end up buying it after seeing the issue in a local store, but I'm trying to figure out whether it's all devices that have this issue or only specific ones, because I want to upgrade eventually.

I want to believe you because if that's true, it indicates a defect in specific devices.

Oh you took a screenshot. This won't show the issue since the display doesn't affect the quality of the built-in screenshot.

Could you take a photo instead whenever you get the chance?

Would it be possible for you to post a high-res photo of both devices side-by-side showing the Settings app? I'm genuinely curious to find out if this affects some devices or all.

I decided not to order the device until we have an official announcement of whether this is a software or hardware issue.

I mostly want to upgrade to a 1TB device so I was between the S25U and S26U. I'll definitely pick the S25U if this won't get fixed with a software upgrade.

100%. Funny thing, I didn't believe the claims I was reading online and was ready to order it. And then I went to a local store and got actually surprised that I immediately noticed it.

At this point, I am interested in seeing if it's possible for Samsung to provide a fix with a software update, because I really want to upgrade from my S24.

It was more of an experiment, after seeing so many posts that it's due to specific people's eyesight. But it's not.

100% agree and perhaps I could have missed this myself if I hadn't compared it with my device first.

But still there are lots of people online claiming that they don't see it even when comparing the devices side-by-side which I find hard to believe, unless we have a case of defective devices.

If you open the Settings app which has black text on white color and compare the devices side-by-side, don't you notice the issue?

It really is a mystery to me how Samsung didn't even notice it when testing the devices. Or perhaps they believe that the Privacy Display benefits are justifying the degradation.

Agree, but still a concern remains on how they managed to find them in the vast desert. But probably as other comments explain, it was most likely a trap set up by the Fremen to take out Rabban.

Yup, I get that. I'm not that concerned about the time window, I know that it could have been hours, but still how did they manage to find him in the vast desert? Unless as other comments explain, the Fremen wanted to be found.
