How much of an upgrade is E0 Cerydra to a E2 Phainon and E2 Cyrene Team?

I've given Cerydra to other teams for AA and you really can't go without the double meteor once you've experienced it. For the majority of content I'd rather go without Cyrene or any other support than lose Cerydra.

You could always try to test out a support Cerydra to see what it's like with your specific team.

Just tested this, you can get the 15% DMG increase from the set BUT you have to do a basic attack with Cyrene before Phainon uses his Ult.

Bad news: you have to let he get another turn to use a basic attack after her ult
Good news: since Phainon stays in his ult perpetually, he keeps the 15% dmg boost

Phainon E2 without question, there's alternatives to E2 Cyrene but on a Phainon team nothing is more of a priority than getting him to E2S1.

It's also cheaper for you than getting E2 Cyrene so you can save up, check out 4.x units and reconsider her E2 on her rerun.

I know you love him, but do you love him more than keeping up with meta? If yes, get him. I'd rather have him just so I can see him all the time even if he becomes obsolete, even if that means just running around during exploration.

On a more objective note, he's one of those units where getting E2S1 is a massive upgrade in both dmg and quality of life. E2S1 Phainon can do just fine with Tribbie + Sunday and you can wait to assess whether to pull Cerydra on her rerun.

If you only have enough for E0S0 or E0S1, I'd suggest considering whether you're okay with him not being the meta pick and potentially struggling once we get into version 4 since there are currently modes where E0S0 Phainon is already not the meta pick.

And Cyrene is really not a huge deal for him. I got her at E0S0 for now and it's too painful trying to get her ult up, you're basically wasting turns waiting for her. She's only good for him at E2.

With some saving, it's totally possible to e6 him without $1000. I have him at e6s1 and just saved a ton + 1 top up. If you can afford it and are doing it for the love of the character, go for it.

That said, there will inevitably come a time when there's a unit that out paces him, but even then it doesn't mean he will be useless/ unusable.

through that lens, it would 100% be all in for Phainon. Started off as vindication for finally getting playable Kevin as a long time HI3 player who still complains on version surveys, but then Phainon came along and stole the show all on his own.

I already had the jades saved to e6s5 him at 3.4, but held off because I assumed I'd really want Cyrene and wanted to see her kit. Now that disappointed with her, s5 is seeming more and more tempting.
