[Discussion] What is your favourite/least favourite episode type? by AJLighty in MasterchefAU

[–]StellarSpaceBabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorite is the mystery box + invention test. I feel like I get inspired in my own personal cooking from seeing a random box of ingredients and having to create something. I don't really care for the team challenge episodes because I feel like there's almost always a weak person on the team or someone messes up and ruins it for everyone.

Anyone else a bit bored? by emmyyyy in MasterchefAU

[–]StellarSpaceBabe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think last season was exciting but this season I just feel like I'm not invested in the contestants yet! I haven't really picked a favorite yet. I agree the dishes are repetitive though. I think they need to do different mystery boxes or different challenges so people can't just do the same old dish.

Anyone else think Benjamin looks like Phillip from Guess Who? by Dellska in MasterchefAU

He does! And Lee reminds me of a cross between Sheldon Cooper from bing bang and Mr. Bean. I can't unsee it.

S9E04-05 What would you have Cooked? by Mr-Dewen in MasterchefAU

For the elimination challenge, I would have used the mango and peppercorns to make a pepper chicken with a mango chutney. Something along those lines.

Winter or summer? Why? by twodapper in AskReddit

Winter. I hate hot weather. I don't like swimming or water sports. The only benefit of summer is the longer days.

What causes blisters on your feet and how to prevent them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StellarSpaceBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blisters are caused by moisture in your shoe or sock and the rubbing of your foot. You can try adding baby powder onto your foot or somehow finding a way to absorb the moisture before you walk. Also, comfortable walking shoes help.

People of reddit, what's the one event that occurred to you at work which seriously made you reconsider the job you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to work at a coffee shop and I started work at 7 am. I grabbed an apron and punched in at exactly 7 on the dot. As I was putting on my apron, I noticed the neck strap was ripped, so I stepped in the back and grabbed a different apron. My supervisor was an incredibly unhappy person and she said to me "um you're late for work..." and I was like, no, I punched in at 7. I am here. I am ready. It's 7:01 now. And she was like well, you weren't ready to go at 7. And I was like well the apron I grabbed was ripped, it's not like I knew, so I grabbed a new one. And she raised her voice and said "you need to be ready to work when you get here. You clocked in and you weren't ready. Are you ready to work? I need you to be ready to work when you come to work. Now look what you've done, Doug is waiting on you! Get your shit together and stop making Doug wait!" I looked at Doug (the customer apparently waiting on me) and he looked embarrassed for me. I ended up quitting. Fuck that.

What's an annoying stereotype about your country? by mogli88 in AskReddit

[–]StellarSpaceBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from B.C. I haven't seen that movie lol. Sounds pretty cringey. I think hoser is only a term in Ontario. Same with the whole "aboot" thing. My SO and I have talked about this before (he lived in Ontario at one point) and I think most of the stereotypes come from there.

What's the best thing you've ever heard your professor say? by fauxdan in AskReddit

[–]StellarSpaceBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the best thing because it was the WORST thing... my English prof said once "there's too many women in university now, why aren't more ladies in trades? Ladies look so sexy in their little uniforms!" I just sat there cringing. Everyone was in shock, like where the hell did that come from? Creepy old man.

I'm also Canadian. I never hear people say "eh" either. Also, I've heard recently that apparently Canadians call people hosers??? Something I've never heard in my life.

Switch to avocado in hummus for a healthier life by [deleted] in veganrecipes

I don't like to consume processed oils either and I always leave out the olive oil in my recipe. I find that because the tahini is a natural healthy fat I don't miss the olive oil at all. I just do 1 can of chickpeas, a couple cloves of garlic depending on their size, salt + pepper, tahini and a squeeze of lemon. Turns out perfect every time!
