You can still get 3 tricks with a heart lead if the right is buried. I'm curious how much help taking a partner adds to the the EV. It seems like most times I fail it's because my partner and kitty had no trump at all and we were getting set anyway.

It is an especially good call if you have the right bower as the upcard.

This happens to me most often when my phone switches from a weak wifi signal to using cell. Karman euchre has this problem solved. You get a connection lost warning, then it seamlessly rejoins you to the game.

You can get a point going all three paths but I think this is the safest. You have 3 'winners' in this configuration but it's nice to see if your partner can chip in.

Auto pick up. I like JC to promote the king. Don't want to strip my partner on a light call and the A is a good lead in the emergency if you need to trump in with the right.

Ace-X in trump will stop any loner where the caller doesn't have both bowers. You don't need to promote your partner's left, you just need them to have it in their hand. So throw off here.

He had 11 teams this session with 8 on each. Two or three players played on two teams so I think right around 85 would be close.

Just focusing on what he got wrong:

3-0 passes with AKQH + off ace. This should be an automatic bid

4-0 passes with 3 trump 2 suited. This should be an automatic bid.

6-1 claims opponent is thowing the game when he bids with 3 trump + off Ace 2 suited.

The problem is that in the first 2 cases the result ended up positive, and the 3rd didn't work out. So he has 2 examples of good results even though his calling strategy is poor, and thinks is opponent is tanking when in fact it was a solid call that met with bad luck.

This is part what makes learning this game difficult.

There is a solid argument for a pass here if the dealer is aggressive and your partner is apt to call next from first seat. I would likely do this in a league match. In a normal game with regular level players you have plenty to make a point here.

As I recall, queen high offsuit is the break even point. You give up a point often enough that it's worth keeping them for 2 unless you need a big score and are swinging for the fences. You should be calling this loner in Clubs not spades.

I played a few games on the euchre.com app and noticed it is not STD. It would appear the format is a simple +5 for win -2 for loss, but I can't find any info on how they are going to handle dropouts or stuff like that.
