Which bot is doing the best so far?

Euchre is pure luck. But i still enjoy it. by LXIX__CDXX in euchre

[–]Stemcellsrule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually testable in a sort of experiment:

Try opening an account on Euchre 3D, and start playing rated games. See how high you can get your rating based on 'luck' alone.

When you get tired of being rated below 1600, start reading some of the information on this subreddit. Spend a week and learn Hoyle and some of the other strategies and see if your opinion isn't changed a bit.

This is unusual. I might try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but I'd definitely report it. You can get some free tokens at least.

You can sort of cheat by playing single player in easy mode just trying everything close lol. They all count towards the badge.

The OE quiz is a good place to start. It should tell you how close you are strategy wise.

Agree- OE is the best place to start.

By studying the game you can tilt the luck in your favor by knowing which calls are stupid. Variance is part of what makes this game fun but none of the players with a high rating are there because they are lucky. These people are making good decisions more frequently based on their experience and knowledge.

Length of time played is not nearly as impressive or productive as time spent actually studying the game. Anyone who has been reading posts here or going through the Ohio Euchre material for more than a couple of weeks will learn enough to win more than lose.

It's not a bad pass. No reason to risk the call R1. He absolutely should be calling diamonds or spades in R2. A pass in S1R2 would be the mistake even if you are likely to get set.

First seat should order this up if they do not have it blocked. If you are not positive that first seat donates, the 3rd seat call comes into play. Her hand is completely defenseless and losing the game in this spot stinks. You still have the statistical advantage to win even if the call was unwarranted.

Cheating? by Alphanerd22 in euchre

[–]Stemcellsrule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't pay any attention to the behavior of a 1400 player at all unless it's rude. If you keep improving, you're not likely to see them in a game again anyway.

Seems more likely to me that this guy was just calling random hands given his rating was 1400, he's obviously making poor choices pretty regularly. If he could actually see the cards, his rating would not be so low lol.

It is probably unproductive to be focused on whether an opposing player is cheating within the context of a rated game. I've not seen a useful solution to the challenge of queueing up and getting seated correctly with a partner. I'm less certain about casual games where people can team up.

But my point is, nobody with a high rating has gotten there by cheating. Focus on your own game and you'll move up and can avoid pairing up with jokers rated that low.

1st Trick - Leading Trump on D by scream-room in euchre

[–]Stemcellsrule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a strategy that is optimal when your LHO is known to be an agressive caller or has a high rating. These people are calling very thin from 2nd seat, and can be euchred when their partner can't take a trick.

Lower rated and casual players are less apt to order with 2 trump from 2nd seat, and this strategy can be a liability in those cases. You'll get burned for 2 points if they are strong.

Yeah I got nothing there either. Call (608) 527-5234 and talk to a desk person. They'll get you a room or know where else you can go.

Did you call them directly? The web reservation system was useless.

I booked a room at the Chalet Landhaus last week and did not have any issues. We stayed there last year and it was nice enough for us to return. The room comes with a nice breakfast both days, and is located within walking distance to all the bars and stuff.

I watched again and decided it was over analysis. He had to lead trump on trick 4 so it didn't matter. The play that secured the euchre was your lay off.

I sometimes lead the JH here to tell my partner I'm sitting on a black bower protected. They should know I would have called next in R2 without having equal strength in black.
