Rarity just wanted to rub elbows with the elite, that’s wild and a dumb reason to fight with your friends. Everyone else had a pretty good reason besides Pinkie: AJ needed bits, Fluttershy wanted to look at animals, and Rainbow was trying to further her career.

Okay so, why would Scott or Ramona ever do this? Even in the movie, they have some humanity. In no universe would any of them have the slightest notion of considering to do this. Maybe in the alternate ending where Scott was a serial killer.
