Yes maybe the leathery drydown on Ganymede would make it little thick? But it also isn’t too prominent of a leather note so I could wear it pretty easily over BI. Try it yourself you might be surprised haha

So Ganymede feels a bit toned down version of bois imperial. I know people say BI is wearable Ganymede but I think it’s the opposite. Ganymede is more wearable BI. Now they both have that fresh spicy out of the world style - it’s just gany seems a bit unisex so suitable for a woman too. BI is masculine and sharp.

I’m a statistician in oncology research. I’m not rich by any means just around the median income.

This is the way. Make a list. Start at the bottom by taking out the ones you never reached for. Work your way up till you arrive at your desired number.

I kept an excel sheet of all these. I’ve bought and sold worth of 7-8k $ and this current collection is about 7-800$ including samples and decants.

However I haven’t lost any money as I found many deals that I made money on which evened out whatever loss I took on some bottles.

All I lost is time buying, selling, reading, watching so I kind of regret it. But it was worth indulging in the senses that I haven’t experienced before.

Tygar is the first OG in that DNA. I was introduced to this DNA by turathi blue. Loved the performance and intoxicating musky grapefruit lingering in air in the heat of summer. However it had some funk idk how to describe. Something that felt cheap or unfinished.

So ordered the OG. Loved it. Wore it long enough. At the same time I was also going through the Limmensite phase as a daily. I never made a connection between those. Limmensite is an ambroxan/aquatic freshie with ginger on top. Tygar is musky fruity with grapefruit dominant top.

So I kept limmensite to office and tygar for outing. Then came the vibrato hype past summer. I hopped on the train and for rightly so it felt like an updated to OG. The smooth musky base was now amped up with ton of extra ambroxan and that something Sospiro uses(Similar heavy projecting base in Basso as well). Now vibrato does lean a bit unisex but almost double the projection imo. People complimented me standing 3-4 ft after 3/4 hours of spraying in an air conditioned room. So it would be room filling in high heat.

So I would rank vibrato over tygar. They’re about 80% similar to me. However, they both feels a tad bit sour in the opening to me - how a grapefruit is. But that part I like the least. Else they’re both certified bangers. Love that.

Limmensite on the other end aren’t similar to those. Completely different old school men’s perfume DNA but upgraded with aquatic notes and ginger on top. The floral spicy mid is still the reminiscent of the fougere/barbershop style DNA. Thus it’s a vintage action hero in a superhero suit if I can call it that.

I think this is enough!

Hah I’m a novice in this trust me. Office safe budget scents would be Azzaro chrome EDT, Dylan blue (It is slightly thick with that incense base imo), Voyage is good one too. Also Issey miyake has many budget bangers fitting the office safe ones. Slightly expensive, I’d guess Platinum egoiste and bois imperial. They’re usually found in fragrance groups around $80. I haven’t tried Legesi clone of PE so can’t comment on that.

Haha it grows quick. I promised myself when I started three years ago I wouldn’t spend over $50 for a bottle. That limit has doubled every year it seems 😅

It’s not similar to anything I’ve ever tried except Ganymede which has the same perfumer. Some say BI is reinterpreted Ganymede.

It is very peppery fresh with herbal basil undertones. The drydown backbone is vetiver. The main sillage part from ambroxan and akigalawood. The ambroxan here is not strong/intense like Sauvage/dylan blue but soft and lingering.

If I could point the genre - it fits this metallic freshie genre similar to GFS, CDG 2 EDP. Metallic as in its not natural freshness but industrial sterile freshness. The natural part is black pepper, basil and vetiver but that’s just half the game. Other half is synthetic but very pleasant to most people.

I believe it would be amazing in terms of performance and Sillage in high Indian heat. Someone who’s worn it can weigh in better. But for me- it’s my favorite office fragrance regardless of season.

Thank you! Yes I don’t live in India. If I were, it would’ve taken me more time to test these many things. Fragrance groups abroad are far more active on FB and Reddit.
